Bob just gave this sermon at Charis for their chapel service they do on Fridays. It's a really great reminder that we are not trying to get God to give us something. We're not using what he's already given us.
    Bob is a great teacher.

WOW, Rod; this is amazing! I love, "You couldn't put it down" (referring to the Word). That is my testimony, and this is one powerful reminder concerning priorities and where I am spending my time and my focus. Thanks for posting.

Great message! Thanks for sharing it. Lots of wisdom in this teaching. Incredible ending. I have never thought of unbelief this way vs fasting. I’ve never seen this pastor before but I like this guy!

thanks for sharing. I have a whole new perspective on the parable of the Sower in Mt 13. The cares of this world choked the word and unbelief ensued making the hearer unfruitful. Starve unbelief by not being consumed by the cares of this life as Jesus said in Mt 6:25-34.

15:16 I have LITERALLY prayed that YHVH will raise up a new generation of Pastors and Teachers who will teach the Word of Faith in the vein of Kenneth E. Hagin, Frederick K.C Price, Charles Capps, T.L. Osborn, etc. It seems that churches nowadays are more about entertainment than teaching people how to apply the Word of YHVH.

What a profound truth - it's not the measure of faith that is the problem (even if it is just the given size of a mustard seed) - but because of unbelief that things lack in our lives - I feel James sums it up in the first chapter of his epistle - because of double-mindedness (wavering - doubting - pondering upon 2 minds about tha path to take in the trial or tribulation) hence lacking (not receiving anything from God) - yet the answer is clearly stated in vers 4 - that we may be perfect (fully provided for in Christ) which we are but then wavering about our firmness in Him. If we decide to keep and patiently bear it out - that is - remain faithful in our focus on Jesus (like Peter not sinking in the storm) - not considering the storm but holding our eyes upon Jesus - letting patience come to fruition in the trial - that will be rewarded by lacking nothing (in that petition asked for) - Hence - when our faith is tested and we keep our patience/perseverance (hupomeno - abide + under - meaning to remain steadfast like a pillar under the bridge of faith - meaning hupomeno + hupostasis - have faith + keep it in place (in tact - bearing the weight in the test) like a pillar- in order to (after successfully tested) able to walk over into God's storehouse and take what we need - perfect lacking nothing

Its interesting the way Paul frames this narrative. He doesn't approach it as a Faith vs Un-Belief paradigm. He frames it as a Spirit vs Flesh paradigm. He speaks of 'Sowing to the Spirit' and 'Sowing to the Flesh.' That's a paradigm which Jesus could not deliver because it could not be understood by those listening and hearing Him teach at that time. Then Paul goes on to warn against 'Entanglements in the affairs of this life.' Some people view this as a mysteriously placed statement referring to not getting so bogged down in the business of living that we forget God. It can be interpreted that way I supposed but what Paul is thinking here is of this Faith/Spirit - Unbelief/Flesh paradigm. He's saying the same thing Jesus said in the Parable of the Sower. Entanglements in the affairs of life is straight from that Parable. Faith has a natural habitat and that habitat is the Heart/Spirit. Unbelief has a natural habitat and it is the Carnal Mind/Flesh. Its why Paul used that play here 'If you sow to the Spirit you reap life' - 'If you sow to your flesh you reap death.' Its the sam paradigm. Faith/Spirit - Unbelief/Flesh. There's a reason we prune weeds out of our flower beds.

Search TH-cam for Andrew Womack's message on unbelief. He made the same point including excellent analogies that pit unbelief as a counter-force to faith.

What about Matt 8v26 where Jesus rebukes the disciples for their "little faith"? I have heard many years ago that unbelief or doubt will stop faith. Like 2 sets of horses linked together in the opposite ways. However, what is lack of faith called? Unfaith? Surely it is unbelief. So it seems like two sides of the same coin to me, practically speaking. A distinction without a difference. To grow faith is to defeat doubt and unbelief. No? Again, I am thinking on a practical level here. If I am off base, please do correct me. I am not trying to be right but have better theology and thus better flow in the Spirit.
I do agree that the name of Jesus can do it all and thus prayer and fasting is not about the demon. It seems to be about our relationship with the Holy Spirit. It is not a formula. A ritual. An incantation to just quote "in Jesus name" like magic words. Jesus didn't heal everyone the same way. Nor did he just say to come out with a demon. But I totally agree Jesus is enough for any demon! And it needs to be shouted from the roof tops rmfrom WoF people that the issue is not a lack of faith of the receiver. (I honestly wanted to punch so many people who kept telling me to "just receive". Like I am actively resisting healing or whatever when I went down front to get it!) Anyhow, it has been used as an excuse by many preachers in the past when they didn't get the results they wanted. So yes! Lack of faith is not the whole answer. But is unbelief not a lack of faith as a different way of saying it? Please do correct me if I am mixing things up or missing something. Blessings in Christ!

I think Pastor Bob's point is that we all struggle with doubts in our heads, but there's a difference between the unbelief of the people in Nazareth or the Pharisees and the unbelief people like the epileptic's father and the disciples were dealing with. The unbelief of those who rejected Jesus was a heart issue. The unbelief of the others was treatable.

@Jew and Greek I agree that there is a difference between a believer and a pagan. I just am not sure where the difference is between unfaith and unbelief. Or using faith vs listening to our doubts. Seems like I can't do one without the other being affected. The point may be the same but practically speaking seems to boil down to the same issue.
