28:00 If you're struggling for space during an adventure, its useful to right click some of the items to find out what actions you can take with them to save space.
You can unbundle the gold pouch to get its contents in coin form.
Bigger gemstones can be converted into a couple of smaller ones, overall gold value doesn't change.
5 of a resource (wood, bones, etc) can be bundled to save space if you have more than 1 stack.
please make more episodes i love this series so much i binge watched all of it in 2 days and i plan to continue watching it and liking the episodes as long as they keep coming out

with how brutal and full of AOEs that the chapter seems to have, I would assume that getting the AOE heal from the acolyte would finally be useful? Before the damage was pretty focused so the AOE heal was less useful, but now it might be it's time to shine.

the grind is real I honestly watch the videos at 3.5x speed. wish it was like palworld where you can tweak all the drop rates and stuff

I really enjoyed the series. It was a pleasure watching while I've been cramming for a big test. I hope they make some big fixes and the game can develop in a positive direction (bug fixes, decreasing grind, etc). I understand the hesitation to keep going on Retro even if I'll be sad to see it go. Thank you for the series!

I just got into the game and found your series. It is amazing how different our playstyles are! That's great! I run defense/healing build using 2 guards, 2 hunters, 1 shaman, 1 acolyte. Those flaming skulls are the worst.

I agree with a lot of your concerns. I think this feels like an alpha or beta, some core concepts are good but there are huge flaws.
It makes me sad because I was looking forward to this game since I saw your first play through. They have a little bit of magic here. I really hope they have the funds and desire to polish this up into the gem that it could be.
I think part of the grind comes from how slow the attack animations are. I think everything other than the revenge, holy smite, and fireball should be much faster.
I really hope for more Gobbos, I greatly GREATLY enjoy this series, it's a big favorite of mine.

Hey Retro, I just completed the game. You get escalation settings that make the game more challenging.
In runs with a single healer I used a Shaman and never had a mortal wound. He also has a stun, slow and knockbacks on skills.
You also need to go all out attack against those skulls, they're nasty. Good luck!

Would be cool if corrupted goblins lost to dark shrines become an encounter where you fight them.
They could even make it a risk reward thing where you the more you power them up the more souls you can reap from them but the more dangerous they would be in the fight against you.

I bought this game based on seeing you play it and have really enjoyed it too. I definitely agree with a lot of your criticisms around the design of shrines and the exhausting grind for resources (including souls). It seems that I like the expeditions more than you though, since I'm still happily playing and am quite far ahead of you in the story.
While I would love to see you play more, with what I've seen of the next chapter and how things are progressing, it is more of the same, and, sadly, I don't think you'd enjoy it enough to make good content of it at the moment - for all the reasons you mentioned at the end of the video. I hope that future patches can change that - I'd love to see you taking goblins on adventures again, and trying to get more blue goblins, but I think you're making the right choice to call it here.
I think ambushes would be better if you could actually have a chance to see them, like they can you (also I thought we were doing recon, not murder oops). I do like it but if we can progress without needing to grind, it may not be paced just right. That said, the art is beautiful (tho 1 thing is it's hard to appreciate on mobile- so many fine details!), and I love the story. There's an orc stone somewhere I'm curious about, and that halfling we almost turned to goo. That said, these are details I could find out on my own, and would like to if at some point patches are done. But I think as a series it's not bad per se, but it's run its course if you're not having fun.

I agree, I do love the idea of the game but again I still believe this is a Half Baked release it needed more time to cook and blend elements and mechanics more smoothly
Hm, first outing sure change things a bit. I was going to think that you will steamroll through the rest of the game with your Godgoblins, but difficulty spike sure is brutal

I like that the difficulty got harder
I do agree that the pacing of the game feels really slow. The increased number of battles from being ambushed/mimics also didn't help. I am hoping at least the ambushes and mimics will get removed or toned down at least to not make every excursion take so long. I still wish that you continue but I can understand why if you don't. Regardless, loved this series. Can't wait to see what you post next!
Could also be fun if the tempt weapons lasted two rounds to allow some wacky stuff

32:30, that is really disappointing, I thought the big draw for combining was to get 5 of the same room on a floor. The only thing I see combining doing is reduce the cost to upgrade the combined rooms

Even if I really have been enjoying the series and would love more, I do actually agree that this should probably be the end (for now at least).
You having to take a squad of new, practically identical, goblins on practically the same quest to fight the same 6 enemies for 12 more episodes before anything significantly changes just isn’t what you should spend your time on for TH-cam.
Something extra that has been working against it for the viewer enjoyment is how much of a hassle the breeding is. You having to hop around between five different menus just to replace one goblin with so other on the squad just feels slow to watch since you decided what you want to do 30 seconds ago and you’re still not done because have to get to the correct menus, in the correct order and keep track of the correct stuff.
I honestly feel like it is way easier and quicker to manage your squad in the original X-COM game. Maybe the dev should take a look at it for some pointers, they have a surprising amount in common.

This series turned me into a daily viewer. I get it if you have to call it, but i’ll be sad to see it go.
The grind definitely made me not want to continue playing this game. That and the fact that I made it to roughly Day 85+ just to find out that part of the game was bugged and it reset my save back to Day 72.
Definitely something I'll check out again in the future, but that was the nail in the coffin for me, losing 6-8+ hours of play-time and progress because of a damn bug xD

I definitely don't have time (or interest) for an off-screen grind unfortunately.
Moves like intercept feel *so bad* when the enemy has so many different ways for it to not work. (Cleave, ranged etc etc)

i really hope they fix some things, i was so excited for this game but the controls are all backwards for me, i literally have to flip my mouse manually in my PC settings because this is the only game ive ever had issues playing with an inverted mouse.

Edit: hearing you say you aren’t enjoying it is sad but if you truly don’t want to play anymore then I think you are right to stop playing. I do agree with most of your gripes with the current game state but I will still miss this series.

I will say, if I'm not playing for TH-cam, I'm not playing. I don't have time for playing games off camera right now unfortunately.
I would like a continuation of this series, but the patch seems glaringly obviously needed, especially taking into account people loosing their save files.
Do what you must Retromation, if there's still life in the series, continue it or stop until good patches are made for the game.
No ill feelings either way, just a bit bummed that the game is such a grind that it's not TH-cam friendly.
Zelda rears of the kindom is a lot of pointless grinding as well. If games such as that removed all its shoe leather, it would be about beating the boss once, and then getting the reward. Not a mediocre reward such as more food, resourses, and a near endless amount of shrines to find and complete to get 38 hearts. The very long-winded quest like collect all the bauble frogs for the average player is far from being entertaining for very little reward at the end of the quest. This game you're playing has a lot of pointless shoe leather in it as well, but not half as bad. You're a hero to me, because I was enjoying playing this game, only I quit 6 hours in.
Why does Dumpslider have more health with 10 body then Deadlifter with 12?
