What a once-in-a-lifetime privilege to have had the opportunity to be with this rare phenomenon of a heavenly creation...gahddamn, but I'm with everyone else who would line up to step in and welcome Elvis home. Lovely song and that voice is purrfect, as always 💯🌙❤️
Elvis makes us understand how loneliness can feel. There were times he felt loneliness and the closeness a normal couple could have he could not have . Elvis was a special person in every way.
There's a reason that Elvis was voted 12th greatest Country Singer of all time (though I would put him higher on the list). The song is basically Elvis telling his woman that if she doesn't want him anymore, there is another woman, (who hangs out at bars? ) that does: "there a honky tonk woman that'll take me back in."
There's a honky Tonk angel who's happy just holding my hand… he'll go find an angel that will be happy to be with him… and dude was right. He never had to look cause they lined up every he went. Every house in California too. You need to hear sonny West tell the story about how Elvis tried to call a taxi while in California it was hilarious!!!!
He is in a relationship where she has " lost that lovin' feeling", but there is an old friend who loves him and her door will always be open, so shape up, Baby, or I'm going back to my Honky-Tonk Angel.😂. I love this song, but how could any woman lose their love for this man? Impossible. ❤❤❤
Thank you, Miss Candie - so beautiful and so sad. Sometimes my rational persona tells me it's weird to lust after a man who's been gone for over 46 years. Then my other personas see these pictures and tell my rational persona to STFU. LOL.
I would take him back in, in fact he would have never had the chance to leave. I love his voice in this song. Thank you Ray for your reaction. As usual it was great.❤
I love this whole album. It's very sad especially knowing he was not far from the end but it's all hauntingly beautiful due to his incredible vocal performance. Brings back lots of childhood memories of me and my family on roadtrips and holidays ❤
This is a song in which a man was broken. His love left him, yet in that bar, after drowning his hurt and pain, he saw a woman, the Angel, behind the bar that allowed him to have hope for the love he lost.
Aww miss candie...you picked a winner..I love when Elvis sings country too. I think he is refering to a girl from his past, who worked at a Honky Tonk which to me would be a Night Club of some sort. So he is telling his current Woman, that he wants to stay with her, but if she doesn't want the Love he can give her, then there is a Honky Tonk Angel Who'll take him back in. ❤❤❤ another words, the old girlfriend would be happy to take him back. ❤Please Do: Elvis Presley WITHOUT LOVE (THERE IS NOTHING) Official Audio 1969 Elvis Back In Memphis Album

@@candiehamilton9943 I want to read that too. Did you see, The book that Lisa Marie was in the process of doing, but didn't finish. Riley finished and it's coming out on my birthday October 15th. Very excited for that! 😃
I am sure that he related to the song because Priscilla was already having an affair with her karate instructor (not his instructor), Mike Stone and she told him so. Prior to her telling him that and asking him for a divorce, I am sure that she was being cold and and disinterested.Whether you are the man or thhe woman, you can tell when something is "going on." Or not going on if you know what I mean. The MM said that he was really hurt over the fact that she was the one doing the leaving. They said when he stood on the front steps of. Graceland to say goodbye to Lisa Marie as she was moving away to California that he looked up and shot Priscilla a look that she will probably never forget. Everything says that he divorced him but it was the other way around so that she didn't have to put her address on public court documents, therfore protecting Lisa's location as she was just 4 years old at the time. Priscilla made sure to punish him for cheating on her! She said in an interview, "I simply did not want to share him." She would later go onto date Robert Kardashian ( the attorney who helped represent O.J.) and do something devious. Maybe another gang member will finish what I heard about that. I don't need a law suit since I don't know it as fact.
In my opinion he sang this song because of Priscilla. She had just sued him for the second time and that with the reason of fraud. Can you imagine Elvis who was the most generous person that ever lived on earth was sued by his wife because of fraud?

When was the last time you kissed me
And I don't mean a touch now and then
It's been a long time since you felt like my woman
And even longer since I felt like your man
So tell me if you think it's over
And I'll leave it up to you how it ends
'Cause if you don't want the love I can give you
Well there's a honky tonk angel who will take me back in
You never look at me and say 'I love you'
How much more do you think I can stand
Oh, there's an old friend out there and she's waiting
Lord she's happy just holding my hand
So tell me if you think it's over
And I'll leave it up to you how it ends
'Cause if you don't want the love I can give you
Well there's a honky tonk angel who will take me back in
Yes, there's a honky tonk angel who will take me back in
