“He became a man today…” had me cackling at the end there 😂 There’s lots of layers and conditions to Kurapikas abilities some are revealed soon, some aren’t revealed in the anime. But Kurapika has cracked the code of using the conditional bonds to overpower his Nen.
emperor time seems op but there is a huge drawback that was sadly never revealed in the anime, so spoiler warning if you are planing on reading the manga: every second spent in emperor time takes one hour from kurapika's lifetime plus some more immediate effects like feeling feverish or being unconscious for days after exiting that mode.
@@PROTVGONISTdepends how you feel about living. 14:28 Kurapika is such a savage! here the translation is not really accurate but they tried to deliver that sass 😅since he already knows Uvo can be very loud (that's how he killed Porcupine💀) he says smth like "let's go to a place where we won't disturb anyone since it seems like your agony is gonna be real loud" ... in JP it sounds so cold 😲
I always like to imagine the characters we know are hunters when they met Tompa at the Hunter exam : Tompa gives Sharnalk (Armin's cousin LOL) a can juice and he takes it with that smile "oh 😁thk u !" and then throw it in the can trash or gives it to someone else with the same smile 🤣🤣Sharnalk is quite the savage too
The “he conjured it” argument doesn’t line up. In order to summon chains it required intense exposure to chains, kurapika describes licking them, hold them etc. conjurers can’t just casually conjure any object they need. It’s a long process to develop their conjured items and abilities. Source “a Conjurer has to undergo a lot of visualization training, once they have mastered the materialization of a CERTAIN object, they can conjure it and dispel it in an instant, whenever they want.[114]” “Conjuration abilities tend to be very specific, complex, and conditional” Conjuration, Nen (30)
Kurapika getting high fever and even forced to pass out when he use his ability too long. In the manga he even got more worried when he realize his ability still active when he passed out and thus making the backlash for the next sleep geting longer. I explain this because in anime no information about that, making people overestimating Kurapika
what if they wanted to read the manga after? this is still giving away information you’re not supposed to find out later. moreover, regardless Emperor Time is an incredible ability. every single nen ability has some sort of tradeoff for the power, but as far as we know it is impossible for anyone to use categories to 100% like, that’s genuinely insane. 😭
43:25 Yeah, only Chain Jail is limited to the Troupe. Emperor Time and all his other chains (including his index, pinky, and thumb chain) can be used on anyone.
Kurapika is far from the strongest. Remember that he had to test to check if his reinforced fist could hurt Uvoguin without nen (he could, but the fact that he even had to test show that Kurapika's Nen output is not at the level of very strong fighters like Uvo or Hisoka). Emperor Time let him use each category at full potential, but he's still using them with his own nen reserve. If you have 100% mastery in enhancement but half the nen output of another enhancer, you're still only punching at half their strength nen-wise. Kurapika could never match Uvo's strength for example even with full mastery over enhancement. Finally, the anime will never actually address it, and I won't spoil it in case you want to read the manga once the anime is over but after the end of the last anime arc, the manga specify that there's another drawback to Emperor TIme, something that is never shown or told before that so Kurapika is far from invincible. That being said, that technique is still overpowered which is exactly why there's another drawback even if it's never mentioned here. Also there's the fact that Chain Jail works only against troupe members. If Kurapika fought an enhancer of Uvo's caliber who wasn't a phantom troupe member, he's probably be fucked. There's almost no chance he would win. Even if he removed the condition on his chain jail to use it on a non troupe member, without the condition the chain jail would be way too weak, it probably wouldn't be able to force Zetsu and wouldn't hold a master enhancer of Uvo's level so it would be pointless. "you think it's true that he has the most physical strength" Yes, we already know it's true because the troupe members themselves say so when Uvo is fighting the mafia. The manga also had a page displaying the troupe arm wrestling rankings and Uvo is obviously at the top although not everyone agree that the ranking is without Nen. To me it's pretty obvious the ranking is with no nen because one of the troupe's enhancer is near the bottom and he would never be so low if he was allowed to use Nen.
IMO Kurapika is the strongest out of the main 4. I mean … it’s obvious. How many nen users occupy two categories at once-with one category allowing 100% efficiency every single nen type? He’s like the nen avatar. Moreover, Chain Jail still requires the user to overwhelm and ensnare the opponent. He was literally running circles around Uvo without it. Even if you bring up Emperor Time’s drawback-I don’t see how that’s super relevant, considering every powerful nen ability tends to come with heavy conditions and drawbacks. I honestly don’t think it’s that bad considering Kurapika’s overall mission and knowing that nen users have longer lifespans than most. Finally, how can anyone undercut Kurapika’s amazing intellect? Kurapika has only been training his abilities for six months. In six months alone, he’s running circles around a Master Enhancer like Uvo, and is also efficient in advanced nen techniques. You may personally think he doesn’t hold a candle to Gon and Killua, but to say he’d be “fucked” against strong, non-Troupe opponents is definitely a stretch. I get that folks don’t want characters to be overpowered, but he’s not. He’s just That Guy.
@@blackprotagonist "nen users have longer lifespans than most." They do if they live their entire lives using Ten, but ET removes years from your current lifespan not "the lifespan you would have had if you spent 50 years using Ten to stay young" and since Kurapika has only been using ten for two years, his lifespan had not really had time to increase much. That being said, I didn't say Kurapika wasn't the strongest of the four, I said he wasn't the strongest in general (because that's what they were talking about in the video). I do think Killua would probably be a bad match up for Kurapika (not a troupe member, way quicker to react, an ability that can stun Kurapika for a second which for an assassin like Killua is enough to kill unless you're a freak of nature like Youpi) but overall Kurapika is probably still slightly stronger. That being said it's funny because Kurapika's current enemy present a challenge very similar to Killua (one can react faster than you, the other can leisurely watch 10 seconds of future to know how to react to win) and I'm guessing Kurapika will eventually win this (although with a lot of prep and he might die in the process) so I could agree that Kurapika is the strongest protagonist currently.
