- Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this antique primus stove at flea market. For me it's very interesting stuff. It was made in USSR. It runs on kerosene. It's really good stuff for camping and my friend always takes a modern primus for fishing with an overnight stay or when we go camping..
Restoration process:
Initially, I took everything apart in parts, the legs were soldered and one fell off immediately. The rest are in progress. Then, using a rust remover, I washed all the parts, then with water and cleaning agents. Next step, cleaning and polishing. This took a long time. Next, I replaced the cuff on the pump, and the rest of the elastic bands with new ones. During the test, I noticed such a thing that the camera warmed up longer than when I restored the burner. As always, I made a test for you.

She reminded me of my mother in the days of her life, days passed by and I will never return, she had a tool like this and she used to prepare our food with it when we were young
60 years ago, my grandmother cooked on such a primus in the summer heat in the air, so as not to heat the stove in the house. Nostalgia.

I love that you've restored dozens of knives and your scraper/cuter/slasher is an old piece of steel wrapped in electrical tape. Just like my tool box.

... молодец Бородач!-, отличная получилась реставрация, у моей бабушки был точно такой-же примус называется РЕКОРД, я до сих пор беру его с собой на рыбалку и природу, здоровья тебе и удачи во всём, новых творческих успехов!!!

I was exactly supprise to see it worked. Normally one have to remove the inner valve and clean the nipple with the pricker. You taught me a great lesson on making my own pump washer , thanks.

This stove is really something beautiful. I guess you could've solder with tin-led wire and low heat iron, but cold weld worked fine and didn't stress the brass can while heat may had bended it.

He did everything perfectly. I liked it very much. The only negative is the epoxy resin, which is afraid of heat. Soldering, and only soldering will withstand high temperatures.
Всё сделал отлично. Очень понравилось. Единственный минус так это эпоксидная смола, которая боится нагрева. Пайка, и только пайка выдержит высокую температуру.
الله يرحم الزمن الجميل ومن عاشوا هذا الزمن الجميل في الستينيات وما قبلها كانوا ناس بسطا؛ وفقرا؛ ولكن كانت عندهم كرامه و؛شهامه وانسانيه وهذا الوابور كان يصنع من النحاس وكان يعبي بالجهاز اي بالكيروسين وكان ينظف بالجاز فيرجع كأنه جديد هذا للعلم لمن يشاهد لأول مره وشكرا

Buenos días señor, el calentador o estufa del tipo "Primus" aún es usado en las campañas que se hacen en la Antártida, porque aun en extremas temperaturas bajas logra funcionar; en estos casos se utiliza gasolina de aviación. Es una solución antigua; pero sigue vigente para ciertas circunstancias.
Fue muy bueno su trabajo. Lo felicito.

Tengo 64, chileno y en mi niñez usé uno exactamente igual que había en casa. Era muy práctico y económico porque la parafina (kerosen chileno) consumida era muy poca. Se podia cocinar para 8 personas con ese aparato. El principio de funcionamiento es simple. El aparato tiene un estanque al cual se le inyecta aire con una bomba manual incorporada. En el quemador existe una pieza que pasa el kerosen y lo vaporiza por la accion del mismo fuego en el quemador y sale con presión por un pequeño orificio. Entonces la llama se torna azul quemando gas de kerosen. El principio es el mismo de un AVION A REACCION a menor escala!! El JP1, combustible de avion a reaccion huele casi igual que este artefacto que en mi país se llama ANAFE
Gasolina de Aviacion es de 110 octanos, muy peligrosa....tal vez se refiere a TURBO JET A-1 (querosene de aviacion).

Many other restoration channels have welders, sandblasters, lathes, and other complex, expensive pieces of equipment. However, despite your lack of those resources, your work is incredible. It's a testament to your craftsmanship.

Great restoration. He's saving his good knife for other uses. Instead a jagged sharpened piece of flatbar wrapped in tape does the work nicely.
А ведь я эти примусы помню! Во времена моего детства,они еще в хозтоварах продавались.
Ножка на клею отвалится от нагрева, такой компаунд не любит температуры и механическая прочность сильно снижается. Оловом припаять -дело пары минут, цинковый флюс и мощный паяльник в помощь.
Это паяется газовой горелкой и твердым припоем, а не паяльником. Потом можно дремелем шов прогладить и располировать.
Согласен, впрочем, что холодная сварка тут неуместна

Great restoration. In particular, it was good to see how you made replacement parts. I love that insight.
Personally I would not have used the dry welding. I would have soldered the legs on to maintain authenticity. I'm not saying I would have done a good job of this soldering.

Вещь!!! В 50 -60 годы по примусу оценивалась хозяйка! У хороших, в примус можно было как в зеркало смотрется, а у нерадивых были такие как у тебя на столе! А как шумел ,какой звук издавал, пламя как у газовой плиты, готовить на нем одно удовольствие!

On that thin brass and tin stuff I'll typically skip any sort of welding and braze it on with copper or brass filler wire because the wire will melt before the base metal and shine just like the base metal when polished.

Правильный процес но : единственно что не понравилось это ножки на клей, я препаял обычным оловом, горелкой и ортофосфорной кислотой .Место пайки затем промыл и всё ок.
Я так же сделал👍 припоял и огонь. У меня их 4, с виду одинаковые, но с разными чекухами.
