Back in 1979 I had a FT7, the 10W version and worked many DX stations in Europe, UK and USA. I sold it when taking a break from AR and regretted it. Always received compliments on the audio quality and it was fun to use. Fast forward to last year and I acquired an FT7B in good condition and look forward to using it once the shack is up and running.
Thank you for showing you're wonderful collection, you have such nice radios. I love watching you're videos you do such a great job demonstrating them. 73's and keep them coming. : )
I am so jealous right now. That txcvr looks like it has just come of the production line. Damn good find in that condition considering it was nearly 40 years old. I would love to have one to go along with my TWO FT-7's, my FT-101E LINE and my FT-901D LINE as well as my FT-817ND. Thanks for sharing. 73's, DE VK3NBI.
Yes, this was a remarkable find. I once bought it on eBay, in defect condition ("parts or repair"). The original owner must have put it away in a very protective storage after it gave out early in it's life. The repair was relatively simple, a problem with a voltage regulator. The radio was literally like new, although it did not come with the original box. I sold this in 2016, the radio went fast. In a way I regret it, but I just have too much stuff already. It seemed better for it to go to a fellow collector. It is like Jay Leno once said: You don't really own vintage collector items. You are only a keeper to pass it on to the next generation. Cheers.
I have a FT-7B, it was my very first radio when I started AR back in the Fiji islands around 1987. I bought it as it was very difficult to find any other radio in the islands during those days. I also operate an Icom 7200 which is a nice radio too. However , recently I find myself going back to the FT-7B because I seem to like the sound of it in many ways and its very basic and very functional. I made hundreds of contact world wide while working from Fiji Islands using FT-7B. However I'm looking for the power switch which broke on the FT-7B, Idon't think they make it anymore. It's a great radio.

Such a cool radio
Very nice radio!
Kinda tough to make a reasonable 2-rig audio check when the receiving rig used screams FEEDBACK at you and the viewers. Nice rig and nice video.
