Wow, I feel it's pretty rare to find something so versatile with such small form factor. You can tell with the simple usb connections between the modules that they really care about keeping it as simple as possible
Nice! I work with 50W and 100w fiber laser marking. I had already seen pictures of this mini rmachine but I hadn't seen it working, and I was curious to know the result of the rmarking.
Very cool, nice resolution, perfect for those who produce single pieces.
Thank you so much for this video ! I recently stumbled upon this laser engraver via a Instagram ad and it sparked my interest. I love the many uses you did in this video ! Extremely helpful!
It would be interesting to see it hooked up to a CNC router where you could still have it engrave a small section but relocate it accurately in relation to engrave a large front panel on a switch box or face plate for example.
Thx for the Video... we are getting one to identify our tools!
Wonderful. Much better product than I would have expected. Thank you for the ride-along. Speaking of, my GF says she's excited to finally get a Pecker™ that actually works (oh snap!). Cheers!
LOL!
Looks like a pretty sweet machine! Nice video 👍
Wow! This device is amazing!
POINT BLANK AND TO THE POINT!!!! LOVE IT!!!! MORE.... Would love a Water Bottle/Tumbler video if you have time!!!
Thanks! They're sending me the LP2 and LP4 for a review/comparison video, so I'll make sure to include that.
@@JamesBiggar Roger that....NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE... Still learning bout lasers and just about sold.. with the LP3 ... Thanks!
Thank you for the demo. I would love to know how it compares to the other small laser engraver being heavily promoted I believe it's called the xTool. I'm really in need of something like this for my jewelry making. I was hoping you'd try a piece of sterling silver as I'd love to see those results since that is the material I work with mostly.
I wish you would add in the description how long did it take to do many of your engravings, from setup to finished process ... TY
Very cool, after engraving the parts, it seems that they have just arrived from the factory.
Great video and review. I wonder how well it would work on kydex
$1800 with all the options, is pretty good.
If I had a engraving business, I would buy one.
So awesome !! ;- )
I like that.
Hi. How you engrave on the tumbler with the rotary tool?
Thus is a neat little machine for sure. It's most definitely just a hobby level machine speed wise, but it's impressively versatile.
It's a good machine. @ 48K mm/min, it's definitely not a batch processing industrial machine, but it's far from a hobby machine, too. Ideal for a small business, really. Jeweler's shop, electronics (making or cleaning pcb's), product bar/qr codes (especially for large products that require a portable laser), make your own merch, etc. It's pretty handy at my business.
What would be the cheapest stone , marble engraver ? Like for headstones ?
Have you tried to use the LaserPecker on a lower AR15 receiver?
Very cool review. The machine is no longer available on Amazon and actually got so-so reviews (3.5/5). Can you recommend an alternative?
Have you tried engraving titanium ?
Great tutorial! thanks
wondering if you have engraved any cups? the laser seems not to go as high as needed
Thanks! Depends on how big your cup is. I engraved that steel thermos shown at the end of the video by simply spinning the module around 180 degrees and elevating the base. Pretty versatile little machine.
How is about speed? Metal engraving.
Your channel is the best
Good video.
Look great how much is the price?
Is that available in India
How i can buy for india....
Hi, I have the LaserPecker LX1 Max and I’m struggling to engrave on metal. The LX1 max doesn’t seem to have a focus option with the two dots. Di you have any idea how this works?
The only bare metal that a diode laser can etch/mark (not engrave) is stainless steel. They can't etch any other metal unless it's coated, and in that case only the coating is etched or removed. The LX1 diode module has a built in graduated focus stick on the side. I recommend reading the instructions ;) th-cam.com/video/p7Oz2fs6Ad0/w-d-xo.html
I want to purchase
Love its
Do you have a video showing how deep you can get on multiple passes?
Only performs permanent etching, it doesn't engrave.
is it really engraving or marking? because depth makes a huge difference.
You mean laser engraving vs laser etching vs marking, technically. You're conflating etching and marking, but there's a huge difference between them. Pencils, pens, crayons, markers and marking agents/sprays make marks. These are not as permanent as etching or engraving and are not shown anywhere in the video. Etching heats and permanently distorts/discolours and slightly raises the surface to produce a texture that can't be removed without grinding or cutting it out. It's a physical process that changes the surface structure without compromising it. This is shown everywhere in the video. Lay folk are free to call it marking, but it's not technically the same. Marking adds material. Etching neither adds or removes material.
Engraving removes material, like the paint on the wrenches and metal business cards shown. Engraving can be as deep or as shallow as the user prefers provided they have the laser power to do what they want. This machine can remove paint and other coatings from a metal surface, and it can etch said metal surface and plastics. Again, like those wrenches where I remove the paint (engrave) and etch the metal below to produce a nice bronze colour. In other words, it can engrave, etch, and even mark using a marking spray if you prefer...to the extent that a 2w infrared laser can. Different laser types/power work different materials. This machine is strictly for metal and plastic. Their LP2 can cut, engrave and etch materials like wood and leather. The LP4, which I'll be featuring soon, combines the laser tech from 2 and 3 to do it all with up to 10W of output power. It's definitely not the most powerful, but the versatility and portability makes up for it. Again, a great machine for a small business that doesn't necessarily provide laser engraving/etching services but does require some and prefer to do it themselves instead of commissioning another company to do it.
With that said, engraving isn't necessarily the best process for every application. Engraving, etching and marking are each better than the others for certain jobs. Depth isn't everything. It could be more of a detriment than anything, like using it to create a mural on a cutting board or charcuterie board. Could you imagine the gunk that would build up? Burning (ie etching) would be a better solution in that case. Just one example.
How much the price?
Nice review! How many companies and logos do you have!?!
Thanks, just two TH-cam channels.
Is it still working? Any breakdowns, maintenance?
Still working, just keep the lens clean.
LOL, whoever worked the marketing for that device knocked it out of the park. 🤣
Laser engraving is cool, but it can be used to engrave cliche plates for pad printing.
Whaaat ??? It done that ? Hmm quite nice for metal crafters and wood the same looks good man seriously is it permanently there ? Or does it fade etc i.e. what a good old STAMP wouldn't do etc but very nice none the less
Etched for life. Only metal and plastic though, not wood. Different lasers work different materials
Yes. It will engrave just about any metal. Steel, aluminum, copper, brass, nickel, silver, gold, titanium, chromium, painted, anodized, powder coated or bare.
Can i engrave on leather
Yes.
Does this engrave wood ?
No. Check out the Laserpecker 2 or 4. This uses an IR laser that's suitable for metals and plastics. The LP2 has a blue diode laser that's suitable for organic materials like wood, paper, and others like stone and even stainless steel (but no other metal). The LP4 combines the IR laser from the LP3 with a more powerful blue diode laser like the LP2 in one laser module so you can work almost any material: th-cam.com/video/OAT--70RPts/w-d-xo.html
@@JamesBiggar thank you very much for your reply. Very helpful 🙂
Looks like a neat and pretty capable product but having such a powerful laser (in the infrared no less) on a consumer product with so little protection seems like an accident waiting to happen. The cutter equivalent at least has a protective shroud.
It's only a 1W laser. Need at least 5W to do any sort of cutting, like the LP2 - that's why it comes with a shroud. But this comes with safety glasses and safety instructions. The user just needs to provide the common sense to use them. Like wearing sunglasses and not staring at the sun, or not being careless with fire, that sort of thing. That's not to say that accidents don't happen, but I'm more at risk of firing a spike into my hand with the framing nailer at work or catching a ricochet in the face than I am of being hurt by this laser.
8:30 2.mins 😅😂😅
God I miss upstate New York
made in China 激光啄木鸟
That name sounds painful….
Remember NOT to laser your pecker.
What an unfortunate product name.
Or genius.
You Talk Like This Device Is Cheap It’s We’ll Over $2k 💵
Nope. I talk like it's a relatively affordable investment for both serious hobbyists and entrepreneurs, like jewelers. I never once implied anything else. This isn't a cheap machine. Affordable isn't necessarily cheap. A $100K house could be affordable to some, but not to others. Some folks have bigger budgets than others, some purchase homes for different reasons than others. But $100K isn't cheap regardless who's paying for it. That's a serious investment. Relatively affordable means a similar or lower cost investment compared to a similar product that's available for the same return. The key words here are relatively and affordable. The logic isn't complicated to understand if you're a serious hobbyist or small business owner. Not once did I ever say cheap. Cheap = junk in my dictionary, and I don't make deals with brands who make junk that'll make me look bad in the end, and I certainly wouldn't insult them by implying their product is 'cheap', ie junk.
