@@mogy7331 It is not. BBC commissioned the show. It is a BBC show. RTD has said this, it remains a BBC show. Some people on here don't know how distribution deals work.
I think the midnight drop was a mutual decision between the BBC and Disney as a result of international time zones; same with the double bill premiere. As for the release dates, I think the BBC are the primary commissioner, and it would be up to their schedulers to decide exactly when it airs. I also think a “window” for transmission can be put forward by Bad Wolf (e.g. Spring), as they manage the post-production period.
I think 10 episodes for a modern series like doctor who is better. Pretty little liars, house of the dragon and the last of us should have 10 episodes, in my opinion it's even and there is better Pacing. 8 episodes seasons can feel a bit rushed at times.
From across the pond here. I love who no matter what but I like it as quirky UK sci-fi show. I don’t really want them to cater to me the people tbh. I’d rather a scaled down budget 13 ep then 8 high budget ones that seem rushed story wise.
You're right. He never will. Even after the cancelation back in 1989, there were books, audio adventures (Big Finish & BBC Audio), comics, books and all manner of merchandise. They can do that again... and never have to produce another episode of the show.
@JobbyDodger I agree with everything you just said. I'm not even watching the new episodes anymore. I stopped after "The Giggle"... and I made the choice to skip the last 2 years of Chibnall/Whittaker too. I feel a need to qualify my fan status when I talk about the show now - as in, "I'm a pre-Chris Chibnall Doctor Who fan." I have a DVD & blu ray collection with over 8,000 films and t.v. show season sets... and let me tell you, not all of them are "Citizen Kane" level quality. Some are actually really bad but something about them appealed to me. Either the title made me laugh or the cover made the movie seem better than it was or something like that. And despite their low quality... I don't regret spending money on them a lot of the time, because they're SO bad that they're good... at least for a laugh. So... while I spent real money to own films like "Terror At Blood Fart Lake" AND it's sequel, "Return To Blood Fart Lake" as well as "The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made" AND a remake of that movie by the same director (not sure what the goal was with the remake to be honest, based on that title)... but I will not be buying the RTD2 "Doctor Who" blu rays (after all, I do have some standards even though clearly, my standards are not very high). I already made the mistake of buying the Chibnall/Whittaker stuff (including the last 2 years worth of episodes that I flat-out refused to watch when they first aired on television... and at this point, I will probably never watch them. They've never even been out of the blu ray cases. I think I bought them because I hoped that RTD2 could fix what Chibnall broke and I could start watching again... and I was a completist and didn't want holes in my collection. But instead of fixing the show, RTD2 doubled down on what Chibnall did and then started making even more blunders of his own. The one good thing to come out of Chibnall and RTD's eras... is I now appreciate the older Doctor Who stories even more than I used to (which I didn't even think was possible... because I have always loved them, warts and all)... especially the classic series. I will always be willing to purchase and watch those stories.
"The Doctor will never die" Disagree here. The BBC-DEIsney Woke-Wank Mob brutally and with supreme malice killed it off with their rampant vandalization of an established, popular narrative in pursuit of pushing their identity politics agenda down everyone's throat (this series died with the 12th doctor AFAIC). What we have now is a complete bastardization of this series that's been totally hijacked to support a political agenda. Since the true end of the series the Woke-Wank Mob has been churning out boring, crap stories as this lot has not just "lost the plot" (on DEI-purpose, of course), be hasn't got the imagination or talent to come up with their own narrative where all their "DEIwoke-wanking" actually contributes to the plot/character development. So instead this ideologically-driven no-talent poseurs have opted for destroying something they don't deserve and can't possibly match, for revenge and to stroke their Grand-canyon sized you-OWE-me-Me-MEEE sense of DEIentitlement.
