    really impressive - bet it was nerve racking to cut out for registers and doors...I'm just about to try your clips and wedges - on 6 x 36 tile installed diagonally - really glad I came across your invention!!

    so im confused ,,im guessing you have to pre level the floor before installation,,especially with such large slabs,but depending on how much you need to lift to make flush wont you have a void,,

    • @erickramer3050
      @erickramer3050 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bill Hamilton interesting point, Bill. This is called GPT. or guaged porcelain tile. My union gives seminars on this type of tiling. These guys are actually installing it incorrectly. The wedge leveling system is actually just to lock the tile in place. You are supposed to comb the thinset the short ways on the floor and the tile. This tile can also be set on walls as well. I have done a few installs, but this tile is not cost effective. Not yet anyway.

    • @philipgardner3160
      @philipgardner3160 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There lies the rub Bill the skill level is in the floor preparation, ie the flattening of the floor slab, but they don’t go there because of the effort involved. Imagine the what problems a small bump would cause especially going from room to room🤔

    Great job
    What is the size of the spacer?
    and what type of grout filler did you use for this job?
    and I heard that the porcelain must be installed without any space between the tiles is that true? and is it OK?

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tile spacer is 2 mm ~ 1/16" with epoxy grout. You have to have grout joint ...otherwise tiles were crack because expansion and shrinkage "due to temperature change (Summer/winter) " Believe it or not porcelain tiles shrink and expands to

    Fajny efekt i super wykonanie. Nie jestem jednak wielkim zwolennikiem tych plastikowych łączników. mam wrażenie, że one podnoszą nieco płytę, odrywając ją od kleju..

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Martin te plastykowe łączniki "Klipy i Kliny" (clips - wedges) z firmy www.perfectlevelmaster.com są zaprojektowane po to aby tylko utrzymać dwie płyty/płytki na tej samej wysokości do momentu wyschnięcia kleju. Każdy klej ma swoją elastyczność do 45 minut i na tyle te kliny i klipy są potrzebne by stworzyć perfekcyjną powierzchnie.T-LOCK pod taką nazwą jest rozpoznawany w internecie i sprzedaży służy tylko do szybkiej poprawy od 1-3 mm różnicy w wysokości pomiędzy płytkami.Generalne zasady przygotowania powierzchni po płytki nadal obowiązują na długości 3m.... różnica na podłodze nie może być większa ja 6 mm tak jest w Kanadzie i USA i chyba wszędzie na świecie

    • @5084204
      @5084204 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dzięki za wyjaśnienie. A po wyschnięciu i odłamaniu tych klipów, plastik nie wystaje ponad powierzchnię fugi?

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nie... nie wystaje tak jest zaprojektowany Klip by oderwal sie pod plytka.
      Jesli zrobesz subskrybcje kanalu Polmaster to zobaczysz wiecej informaci jak ukladac pltki zgodnie z najnowsza technika i materialami. Przyjemnago ogladania...dzieki

    mixed to break up the grout lines,,, can't not imagine doing that myself alone again,, back butter and backer board

  • @buildingtools2675
    @buildingtools2675 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    this handling system in nowadays obsolete. Yes, it works on polished tiles with when you have textured tiles it does't work at all. In addition it is too weak and it moves a lot putting the slab under a huge tension increasing the risk to break the tile. Since 2015 these kind of tools evolved a lot. Rubi, Raimondi and especially Montolit have developed advanced solutions that allows you to reduce almost to zero the risk to break the tiles. This video is part of the history now. good for museum guys.

      Building Tools lots of criticism from your comment at the end... I decided not to delete your comment because you mention about the company's which they do have today (new frame). One thing you did not mention that video was made 2015 those frame for rough surfaces tiles was not available. I hope next comment from you will be more informative for all the viewers ...please watch what you're saying and do little bit more research before you make public come

      I used the same handling system before and I experienced a lot of problems. For this reason I put a lot of criticism on my comment. Sorry for that :).
      As soon as you have a time you should help the trade posting a new technical video using advanced solutions that are now available. No matter which is the brand to me.

    They combed mortar wrongly, not to ANSI recommendations and weak coverage in center of slab positions.... may crack.

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PeterWCollier regarding combed.We could say "yes" and "no".Depends what you do afterwards.Please check next video and see what's happening when we walk on top of the tiles we have 100% bonding th-cam.com/video/sMjZAYlHvks/w-d-xo.html

    • @TheImoveableRock
      @TheImoveableRock 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Running the comb lengthwise is not the recommended method. "Troweling techniques are critical in creating an even setting bed to insure an adequate and uniform bond coat between gauged porcelain tiles or gauged porcelain tile panels-slabs and substrate.Therefore, it is recommended when troweling gauged porcelain tiles and gauged porcelain tile panels-slabs, with widths greater than 20 inches (0. 5 m), to comb the mortar on the tile from the centre line to the outside edge.
      Leaving this start/stop point at the centerline of the tile will insure a uniform setting bed of mortar under the tile body and that the edges of the tile are fully supported." BOTH the mortar application techniques along with a specific walking pattern shall be used to eliminate voids in the mortar while maximizing edge to edge coverage for tiles wider than 20 inches (0.5m).

      I did watch the video... that's not what I am primarily concerned with, other than the fact that if you comb the mortar the length of the panel-slab, rather than the recommended width, you will trap air in the combs of the center of the panel-slab, as shown in the ABOVE video.
