    very soothing to watch this video. Sometimes the best combo is nice calming music with a how to video with actual work being done.

    It is not easy to adjust such heavy tiles and avoid lippage- this system is a huge help !! Great installation ! Great product !

    These clips were a life saver for when a few months ago. I installed 48x48 porcelain tiles. Customer had seven different contractors look at the job and they all got scared when they realized how big the tiles were. I charged a shitload but floor looked amszing

  • @PolmasterTile
    @PolmasterTile  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Yes... it is challenging to keep tiles level if they are larger in size and heavy...but using Tiles Leveling System this concern is gone.
    Perfect Level Master system makes this installation extremely simple and assured always good results.

    This system is much better than the old school way of using a rubber mallet to beat the tiles down.The old way was time consuming and took much longer...Although I still enjoy setting large format tiles over a wet mortarbed and beating them in to perfection...Tileman since 1982..

    Question... are the installers adding grout between tiles after installation... I have seen some contractors install 12x24 tiles and just butt them up.. it's a little more work but certainly looks good... I would use these if I could get that same effect..

    What adhesive would you use on slate tiles? Would you use mortar? And also to grout with

    When back buttering tile should I use same size notch trowel? It looks like the notch you used is smaller on tile than what is being used on floor

    If you lift a tile like this without building up with more thinset, you are creating a void under the tile. Thus a weak spot. Do it right and get rid of the spacers, unless your wall tile is slipping.

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thank you Joel
      Your comment will help me to explain "old school" tile installation
      Build up by thinset can be used only on small format tiles.
      When you install 24"x24"(60cmx60cm) or 38"x72" (80cm x 180cm) "build up" adhesive is not any help do to that installation.
      Please watch this video th-cam.com/video/ESy3DHfN4Zw/w-d-xo.html and see how installation is done (please pay attention how adhesive is spread on floor and tile ...one direction only to eliminate air pockets)
      Today Tile Leveling System for Open minded installers it is necessary Tool in the toolbox.
      Welcome in the new future of tiles installation.
      You have to "walk" on them...this is not acceptable for old school installers.
      Go to www.perfectlevelmaster.com for more information.

    would you recommend laying the first 60 x 60 tile level all round and left it go off so you have a level starting point also would you use the rapid set ?

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gary Sacre We do not level the floor.We make a floor flat before we start any installation on (3m or 10ft length the floor) lowest or highest spots on the floor is 4-5mm 1/8"-1/4"

    My father insists that you shouldn't step on the tiles after laying them down. Don't they become crooked?

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Joe your father is right if you do installation "old school" without T-Lock tile levelling system but if you do...definitely you can walk on the tiles any size larger than 24" x 24" or 60cm-60cm.Watch that video and see what is happening under glass tile why walking on larger tiles is recommended for better bonding th-cam.com/video/sMjZAYlHvks/w-d-xo.html they not become crooked there a joint together and they do work like one massive floor

      Carlos........I'll guarantee that you are an amateur if you don't personally know the great benefit of a tile leveling system. It's like a carpenter saying that a hand saw is better than an electric circular saw. I don't know of any intelligent old school tile setter that hasn't switched to tile levelers.

    Would love to use these in our jobs but it'd be way too expensive with the tile size and sqft we do. Easily over $1200 just for this system on one job. No one is going to want to pay for that here.

    These guys are not getting good adhesion, they have not moved the tile around to spread out the thinset I'll bet it has a ton of air pockets in it. while the tile look level its not stuck down properly. one sharp impact and the tile will bust. they will remove dry with slight pressure and I'll bet you could almost reuse the tile..
    Did they lift one to see how well the thinset was spreading out? no.

    • @PolmasterTile
      @PolmasterTile  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      bobbg please watch again and pay attention:
      1) extra adhesive on the tile is not flat trowel (install on the floor in the same direction)
      2) Weight of the worker improves bonding to100 % when he walks on the freshly installed tiles...you can do that only in First 30 minutes when the thin set is soft (law of gravity)
      3) New School off installation please watch th-cam.com/video/sMjZAYlHvks/w-d-xo.html
