A standout card for the Blokes in my life. I admire the way you adapt on the fly..e.g. the acetate sheet was just the right tool to prevent unwanted smudging. 🌟🌟🌟
@@Chrissieannie Looking forward to it! I may have to cheat and adhere the twine strands to double-sided tape to color and then stick to the card. It may not look as nice, but my fingers aren't as nimble as yours. 😂
What a clever idea using the acetate, you are very clever and inventive.Lovely result as always .Thankyou again for teaching me so much more inventive ways in papercraft xx
so effeective, just a bit of string, incredible, and the stars really finish it off. 🎉 l was just thinking as l was watching how many little tricks you show us, eg the double sided tape on the card before cutting out, that it's hard to remember them all, so thanks for keep reminding this very forgetful crafter/fan xxx
I think this works brilliantly for a masculine card Chrissie, and this has definitely sparked some ideas in my head. I think this is very effective...thank you so much for the great inspiration. x
What a great masculine card Chrissie! I love those colors you chose to color your twine with as well. I have color twine, seam binding and ribbons with both alcohol markers and my distress inks, works great but some colors of distress inks don't give the same color on twine/ribbon as it does on paper, so always do a test piece first. What a brilliant idea with the acetate! Hugs. Brenda
Really unique and pretty design. My husband walked by and said "your learning to color string!" LOL I said "I'm learning to make a beautiful card" He still laughed.. LOL It is a beautiful card.. Thank you
Excellent card, and it would work well for one of my son in laws. I have distress sprays and use them when I want to color twine or ribbon, but I will remember that alcohol markers work also. Thanks for being such a wonderful inspiration to this crafter!! Have an awesome day!
Really like this one, would never have thought of using twine like that, almost nautical. Could lend itself to a little yacht or anchor or something. Thank you for the inspiration Christine and have a beautiful day x
@@Chrissieannie That sounds good, would be something different and possibly create some extra interest and pull some extra viewers for you. Many seem to be doing series at the moment, that might be worth a try? ❤
Those stars added so much to that card. Love the idea of coloring the butcher twine. I don't have white unfortunately, Only red and white and maybe a few strands of other colors that were included with orders as gifts. You always seem to come up with something different each day.
I often dye seam binding for my cards, using reinkers in the color I need using little cups to dip it in. I dry with my heat tool. I've never tried twine before, so I will the next time. TFS!
That is a fantastic idea with the twine, love the card. It’s funny, the other day I was looking for a specific colour of twine, didn’t cross my mind to colour it, duh. Jenny ❤😊
Fab idea! I always struggle with ideas for more masculine cards, so this is very much appreciated. On another note, I wanted to thank you for sharing things that happen in your life. My parents visited from the UK in February and my Dad celebrated his 75th while they were here. It’s my Mum’s turn in October, and my brother (who’s in Canada) and I had no idea what to get either of them. After you talked about your visit to The Potting Shed at the PIG in Bath, I did some googling. My brother and I ended up getting them a joint present of a gift voucher for a few days at a PIG of their choice with meals, and of course, a treatment each at The Potting Shed! They were absolutely thrilled, so thanks for the inspiration!🤗🇦🇺
Oh my goodness! What a wonderful gift for your parents, something they will remember for a very long time I’m sure. They will love their time there! What generous siblings you and your brother are!😊😊😊
This is such a great idea for a male card. You could make it look so different with other colours and embellishments, whilst still preserving the look. Thank you so much for a great video Chris xx
You have so many clever ideas for design! Excellent card. I find many cards are fiddly in their own way. Great idea for a man or even a teen. Have a splendid day!❤
Love your added stars. What you call wastage from die cuts, I call weeds. No matter what I die cut, I save all of the weeds. Sometimes in their own individual bags but other times in a community bundle. My brother enjoyed seeing me take out the community bag of weeds to find some that looked like birds that I could add to the ground under a tree.
Hello Christine! I just found your channel a few moments ago. I first watched your video on how to make die cuts look more real. I don’t know why, but the comment box was not available on that video. I really enjoyed that video & absolutely love the vase you created!! 💖 I very much enjoy listening to your voice & accent. I find it very calming. I live in the deep south of Mississippi in the United States. I started crafting in 2008 when my son enlisted in the U.S. Army. I started scrapbooking his military career. Hi Chris, what a good tip with twine, men's cards always seem more difficult than ladies, my mind goes blank ,the card is lovely as always, could you please tell me where you got your distress ink chart from ,always handy to pick correct colour, thanks for great demo 😁
I wrapped the twine around the block as with the markers, then dragged the ink pads across the twine. I then sprtized it with water to disperse the ink. They took a long time to dry out and the colour wasn't as vibrant as with the markers!
Love this card very much, a super card for a man or in fact any age male.. Thank you Chrissie.xx
