Love the idea, but I thought I should point out something that I think you missed. The best way to put it I think is just to ask what happens if someone's hand -- or worse yet a kid's head -- gets in the way when it slams shut? I think I would abandon this idea entirely and start over. That's a death trap from what I can see. I'm sorry but there is no way I'd trust that closing with that kind of force and no one wants to see anyone hurt, killed or sued. I do very much appreciate your effort and testing though. The innovation and design work was impressive to watch! I love your WJ bumper btw, coolest one I have seen!
There should be an "add on " feature , that installs a rear camera that ties into a new rear view mirror or small monitor so you can still see out of the back of the Jeep ............ I like the idea ...
i realize most people don't take WK's seriously, but i think this can be easily converted to work, and a lot of us are trying to find a way to carry 35 n 37 inch spares.
awesome. i'm working on a bumper and skid plates, then i need a tire carrier. then from there i can go from 3 inches to 6 inches of lift and then it's time for 37's. 32's just aren't big enough haha.
hammer a pinch weld flat, install a superlift kit, with the strut springs from an old man emu lift, , then go with new rear shocks and either 6 or 8 inch lift springs in the rear, with new control arms and a new track bar. it's a lot of work and a lot of money, but it looks awesome and a hemi with QD2 is one of the best IFS off roaders out there. google anon155 build or omelet build thread from jeepforums and you'll see them.
We we're planning on building the next batch in september/October but based on the amount of inquiries received in the past week we may have to move that up on the agenda.
That would be awesome! I’m going full time overland in September and right now my spare is on the roof where my tent needs to be. I’ll keep an eye on your website for availability
Why must I create problems for myself if the tyre already have a place. There is heaps of other things to do If you after looks.. but must say.. if look good
question: drilling through the sheet metal of the vehicle for bolts to access the outer and inner plate / bracket, what prevents the hole from becoming oblong as the two pieces sandwiching them vibrate and shimmy over time. I like the concept and function. I'd like on for my 98 XJ however I worry about the long term issue the rigs vibration may create issue. I believe I have a simple solution. how could I best communicate what I'm trying to convey in both issue and resolution.
The holes drilled for the bolt pass through are drilled larger than the bolts. The hardware does not reply on the holes to maintain in its position. The carrier itself is mounted from the top and the center of the hatch. Nothing moves...EVER!
TheQuartermaster55 the sheet metal is sandwiched by 1.5" cold roll bars which are rolled through a ring roller to meet the contour of the hatch. It will not tear through
I like the look of it. Will I be able to mount it to favor the driver side? I realy like using my rear view mirror and knowing whats behind me. Thats just me. I know a lot of peaple will be fine with it in the middle.
Thank you. Unfortunately not able to move the tire. One side of the hatch does not have sufficient strength to support the tire. It is mounted in the center for balancing reasons.
Love the idea but a Swinging Wheel Mount is much safer And those tires And rims are very heavy, my 33inch×12.5 R17 is a heavy tire and rim. The Idea Is Great If No Children Or Very Weak People People Are Going To Open Or Close It.
No not yet. It's in the works just not a priority at the moment since it is built for up to 33's. Once we test th 35" we'll post up on all social media sites.
The day I run larger wheels on my own WJ I will 100% be buying this. This is awesome.
Thank you
Love this Idea My friend Elvis told me about this he has a XJ But i have a WJ very very tempting
Are you guys gonna be making more soon? Need one for my 02 Laredo
i can already see how to mount jerry cans using the lower mounting hardware .. Great job ! will be ordering
share how lol. I'm getting this within the next few days.
That poor hatch has probably been opened more in this video than mine has since 01
😂😂😂
Need to make these for the KK
Ole jimmy about lost some fingers are that 2nd pull lol

I was thinking the same as You ,I'd Rather Have The Swinging Tire Mount, Yes It Takes A Minute or 2 but worth not hurting anyone.
You sold me....Im getting one.
have you tested the 35 inch tire yet? I really love the look of this for my WJ
One of our fellow WJ'ians has a 36" tire on the tire carrier.
There should be an "add on " feature , that installs a rear camera that ties into a new rear view mirror or small monitor so you can still see out of the back of the Jeep ............ I like the idea ...
Norman Murray rearview cameras are readily available through Amazon, AutoZone and Oreilly Auto Parts and they are inexpensive
Very good 👍👍👍👍👍
It's perfect for me. I will be throwing my money at you as soon as you set a price.
Thank you!

+heroofharo I was curious how an IFS can get such a high lift. I will check it out
love the idea!
Are you guys planning to make another batch of these soon? I need one for my overland setup.

Werner Swanepoel thank you. Larger offroad tires do not fit in the factory spare location.
Hello where can I buy this device
So where's the WK model? ;-)
Still waiting😭
It's gonna be a while, we're concentrating on bumpers for the next few months.

@@hkoffroad1480 your site has no cost for XJ mounts... How long till you are filling orders again?? what is the cost??
@@NetworkDesign3598 we're not building for the XJ any longer. The demand us not there to mass produce the heavy duty struts.
The door handle will broke.
But I like the set up
It's been three years and the door handle has not broken. Actually, out of 100 carriers installed no door handles have broken. No problems there.
@@hkoffroad1480 : good deal.
What kind of suspension you have on your wj?
what size lift is this. it looks great
9 months in, any signs of it tearing through the sheet metal? How's it holding up? Any plans for the ZJ?
TheQuartermaster55 the sheet metal is sandwiched by 1.5" cold roll bars which are rolled through a ring roller to meet the contour of the hatch. It will not tear through
and yes, the ZJ is on the works
I'm from Iraq and I want to ask you
Hello, nice tyre carrier. May I ask what exact type are those struts on tailgate? I really love to buy this carrier.
Jan Branka the struts are custom manufactured for this application.
HK Offroad there is some place to find those struts and buy them? I would love to find them for my WJ
I'm not sure everyone understands what "custom made" means
Do you sell these? What about for Jeep Commander?
We will be designing for Jeep commander come August
HK Offroad please email me price when ready paullundog@hotmail.com
Great looking Jeep, what 3" lift are you running and do yo get death wobbles?
Good job with the spare wheel carrier .

Perfect excuse for a backup camera!!! There are plenty out there that allow full time usage, not just while in reverse.
+cavediverjc I plan on installing one in the rear and 2 in the front so I can see the obstacles ahead better.
HK I have a XJ when will u be making tire carrier for XJ
I would love to have one for my XJ
Bernard Zouroum scheduled to release March 6 for pre order
Any plans for WK2?
No WK2
@@hkoffroad1480 thanks
muy buena idea los felicito
Do the new stud mounts have to be welded on.
No, they are bolt on and the new design has reinforced stud mount brackets.
Love this product. Looks awesome! What is all that rattling around sound in the video?
Thank you. The rattling sound are tools in our glove box. That's our "quick-reach" tool box.
when will it be back in stock??
September/October
Any available now ?
