In an interview from the makers/producer of Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, he said that he played the song in different keys without telling Lea and let her sing each time but at the end Lea asked him so which version do you want me to sing? From then on they realized how good her ears are that she can easily identify notes and can adapt to changes quickly knowing Miss Saigon is a brandnew show. Lea said that she constantly get a knock on her dressing room a few hours before the show giving her a sheet music of a revised song that she needs to learn and perform that night then another knock the next day telling her to do what she did the other night. There's so much pressure originating a role because everything is new.

No need to compare, they are both great singers and we, Filipinos are proud of them.

Most of the world does not know Lea or Regine personally. We are all making assumptions based on what we watch and read. I think non-Filipinos see a lot more Lea footage - Lea’s performances and interviews in English. But Filipinos have a lot of footage to watch of Regine on Filipino TV shows as well as performances.

Miss Lea Salonga caters the upper class society here in the Philippines. If you will go to her concerts, her audiences are wearing formal gowns and signature accessories. Her concert tickets are actually the most expensive among Filipino concert artists up to this date. Regine on the other hand, i think most of her fans are the old local gays.
