I know you said several times that this wasn't "fine furniture," but in my opinion, it absolutely is! The care you've taken, and the way you worked to fine tune all the details makes it very fine furniture to me! I truly love that you're having the local kids decorate it when it's painted! I was wondering if you plan to put some kind of sign on it that says that the art work was provided by children at whatever daycare they attend. I think it would tickle them to go to that store to see their artwork and see a sign giving them credit. Actually, if it's only a couple of kids, you could even put their first names on it. Just an idea. You're probably finished with it and have it in the store by now, but I thought I'd toss my idea into the universe. Hope you, your wife, and of course the bees, have a wonderful Christmas and prosperous 2025! Looking forward to following along with you for all the things to come! Much Love! ❤
Thank you! Merry Christmas, Amanda! Yes, we're on the same train of thought with the artists. I've told them to do whatever they want to sign their artwork and/or note the name of the daycare etc. I want the piece to be whimsical so I've given them full rein on the project. It might come back in about a week from now. I am anxious to see it!
Normally I would prime but the guy at the store said that wasn't necessary in this case. It seemed to adhere and cover well in the end so I can't say he was wrong.
Looks like a labor of love there. That should hold a lot of honey when it is done.
It must be. I could have purchased something for way less money and work!
Good Job!
Thanks and thanks for watching!

No primer because of the poly coat?
