    Thank you sooooo much for posting this video. Single female here with little to no knowledge about doing any kind of repairs on my car. I thought I’d research to fix the problem as everything nowadays is crazy expensive to fix. You saved me tons of money. I tried every suggestion on You Tube and stumbled on your video and ………it worked like a charm. God bless you!!! ❤

    Greatly appreciate this post!
    My battery died today on my 2015 RX350, while my two dogs in cages were in the car. I called Lexus roadside ASSISTANCE, four times. They had no idea how to get the rear door open. I had used a jumper on the cigarette lighter to prevent loss of my radio pre-sets attempting to clean the terminals. That prevented the lock from working on the rear door, even after taking off the battery cable.
    Thankfully, it died in my driveway, mostly shaded, as the sun was going down.
    Had this happened on the road, we would have been in a real pickle.
    As it was, we had to really squeeze over the cages to get the cages open, and just enough room for the two dogs to squeeze out.
    And, it took 4 calls to Lexus, two were hangups, after 15minutes on hold.
    Thanks again for your post! Saved our day... And the dogs!

    After watching this, I tried it on my 2017 Mazda CX-5. The power lift gate was completely dead (no clicking or anything) after I left the ignition on overnight (ignoring all the beeps as I walked away from it, not knowing any better because the car is new to me). IT WORKED! You saved me a trip to the dealership, and the associated hassles, Marcos! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Thanks for the info, after several failed attempts I ran across your video. My 2007 RX350 rear power door stopped working one day and nothing worked to open it but after disconnecting the positive terminal of the battery for 15 minutes it somehow reset and now works just fine. Thought the new battery would have done the same thing but this worked!

  • @Eck0266
    @Eck0266 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Very informative. BUT, one important warning: Remove the NEGATIVE (ground) battery terminal. Much safer! If you remove the positive terminal, and touch anything metal that is grounded with your wrench (while loosening the NUT), you will short-circuit the battery and get a big spark (at the least), or the battery may be ruined or even explode. It is safe to remove the positive terminal only after removing the negative terminal first.

    My problem was different but the things and procedures that you went over were a really big help - mine was the valet button (which I was totally unaware was even there or, if I ever did know I'd completely forgotten about it) I believe it must have been depressed somehow during my last service visit. I've read in a forum to press on the brake pedal for 15 seconds after disconnecting the negative battery terminal, and that worked for me. The author explained that this procedure resets the KAM (Keep Alive Memory). Not sure why, but speculate that there is residual power in the system, perhaps from capacitors somewhere, that needs to be bled off.
