Had the same issues at the track mate couldn't see any obvious issues with the HG. Going to try again but with a VTEC head and hope for the best! Great videos 👍
You can takeout the whole engine harness by taking out the big plug on the driver side shock tower then once you takeout your battery tray theirs 2 bolts holding in a grommet with the harness then unplug from your ecu side then feed them into the bay and all comes out
Hmm if the cap isnt holding pressure then the coolant will boil (expand) at a lower temperature and will dump it all out the overflow. Once it cools down it will suck it all back in and look low. Did you try using the heater as a little bit extra cooling? Used to make enough difference on my Datsun 1600 to bring the temp down. Nothing will expose overheating issues like track days though :)
@@TURBOTRISTO bro I told you I’m from Sydney I get the Sydney humour haha Trying to get thru all your videos so you will be getting little comments like these from 2yr old videos 😂
It doesn't hurt to get a 1.3 bar radiator cap. Maybe if you continue to get overheating issues at the track you could bring the intake temps down by using a water to meth kit and use a 50/50 ratio.
@@TURBOTRISTO Probably, not only that turbo D series are prone to run hot bro that's why the cooling system needs extra attention and the radiator needs an air passageway not obstructed by the intercooler
@@boost_edjamesmathew2168 yeah my original plan was to run the intercooler where the aircon was beside the radiator but budget and space got the better of me I have been tossing up on replacing it now
If you don't have a turbo blanket heat wrap 3 core radiator and a good spal fan Then guess what you're just like every other joe who never boosted a Civic and is now just realizing Honda's always have overheating issues when boosted I daily drive a Built Turbo D16 and I have all the above upgrades live in the desert and have zero overheating issues and this is my daily driven car

its actually a timing issue with tuning these d series turn the timing down and turn the boost up
Poor thing 😕
It was probably good I’ll rebuild it as a spare I think
Good work
Thank you! Cheers!

I actually didn’t know this so I painted around it all it came out decent , you will see in the next video

That’s a great point, I’ve had other friends suggest the head may have lifted
awesome video
Thanks for the visit

@@ElevatePerformancePartsVLOG yes please man I appreciate the support
I totally get the ripping in to bit ... lol
YEAH MAN NO REST FOR THE WICKED
I had a similar problem. Was a faulty radiator cap. Engine was overheating and coolant was boiling in overflow bottle.
I’ll get a new one for sure

Yeah true It has a 1.3bar cap ATM but it might be screwed because it’s a cheepy, I think the head may have lifted
Damn you blew the gasket in all 4 cylinders lol
I think it was too much timing lifting the head

may as well get a straight edge and feeler gauges to test for warpage whilst its apart
Yeah I will do but I’m going to shelf it until the new motor is up and running..... if it runs lol

Tristy, did you use ARP head bolts on the new engine?
If not.... still time to do new aftermarket head studs
I did if you watched my videos bruz
Thanks for commenting though
@@TURBOTRISTO I do bro, as soon as they are released.
If you crank n stop crank n stop and crank again you know your not going to get an accurate reading right
oh really I didn't know that, I thought it could only reach a max pressure, thanks for the tip
You crank till you hear a little pop sound
That’s the comp tool telling you the max reading it’s gonna get for that cylinder
