I know that this sound is just an ice berg scraping against the ocean floor sped up by 16x, but just imagine a huge submerged train surrounded by black water on the ocean floor and it's haunting
The fact this is sped up 16x is why I also agree this is ice shelfs sliding. If this were how it sounded in real time, yea I'd be terrified and amazed at the same time. But the actual real time recording of this sound is like almost 10 minutes long.
See, I believe the official explanation for this one. Supposedly it's friction from giant ice chunks. That's what this sounds like, friction. It sounds like scooting a chair on a wood floor.
There's also a proposed explanation saying that this is from volcanic activities like vents. I believe that more, as this sounds like a train whistle with some sort of gas being blown out of a thin pipe.
@Reality rupture The constant sound thing is a bit confusing. I agree that it can't be screaming, as it's actually a repetitive sound, not a constant one, suggesting that the victim would be taking breaths in-between screams. I do agree with the impossibility due to it being sped up, as well. Intermittance has nothing to do with anything, though.
yeah! everyone should believe you, you totally have better evidence than marine biologists who sit in a lab doing daily research and having real evidence prompted by investigators!
Lol this i want to believe there’s some creature that we never heard about and it keeps turning out to be a different cause. NOT EVERY EXPLANATION IS ICE LOL

It’s a shifting ice shelf.
Sounds like somebody was drowning or eaten by something because it kinda sounds like screaming in the water.

Sounds manmade. The frequency is too constant to be natural or biological. Sounds very similar to a submarine’s sonar doppler sequence.
