    Hi I bought one of these but I found the best way was having to hold it longer on the weed and really burning it if you don't hold it on for a long time I found the weeds recovered and grew again

      Yep, you need to heat the plant enough so that its cells, which contain water, boil and explode.

    I'd go for the propane torch. These weeds will spring right back. I think they need to be fully incinerated for long term results.

    nah don't go for the shitty butane one. Get one that runs off a bbq gas bottle. much hotter much better at instant kill for weeds etc.

    On the down side: I was using my new flame thrower week burner and as luck would have it, A forest warden stop to tell me I needed a fire burning permit, so every day I want to use this week burner I have to get a permit and we can only apply during the certain hours and we won't be given one if the wind is blowing or if it is too dry, I wasted alot of money on something I can seldom use

    How long does it take for them to die

    • @tomreviews9668
      @tomreviews9668  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, more or less instantly really. Once the leaves have been scorched, you have removed the plant's ability to function and survive.

    The camping cooker cartridges don't burn hot enough. Pretty rubbish really.

    Do you think it would work on ivy?

    • @tomreviews9668
      @tomreviews9668  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possible, but unlikely in my opinion as ivy has multiple shooting stems and root networks. You would have to be very thorough to destroy it all- if any of it survives, it will quickly sprout again.

    @gerritw.rougoor663 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Worthless the flame is not hot enough to go to the roots especially to the point where they are coming out of the ground use propane instead butane gass

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And how are you going to burn down to the roots when they're about 6 inches down. Using heat on the upper surface of the plants IS enough to kill them off and the heat source is irrelevant. I have a butane powered blowtorch and it gets hot enough to make steel glow.

    • @Ste2023
      @Ste2023 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why is propane, hotter?

  • @ianmcculloch8531
