- Hi friends! I am Talha Wahid here with another video from Talha's Garage. In this video I will show you how to install EPS electric power steering in Suzuki carry van in urdu.
Most new cars today use electric power steering (EPS)-replacing the previous generation of mechanical, hydraulic systems that take more space under the hood and are less fuel-efficient. Some gearheads complain that an EPS system makes the steering wheel feel numb and disconnected, but that’s largely based on systems from the 1990s. Today’s electric power assist products are virtually indistinguishable from their hydraulic counterparts.
A conventional hydraulic steering system applies torque assist to the steering box based on the amount of pressure the driver applies to the steering wheel. The steering pump is connected directly to the engine, so it consumes a lot of energy, robbing the engine of five to eight horsepower while decreasing fuel economy as much as three miles per gallon.
On the other hand, with EPS systems, as the driver turns the steering wheel, a motor controls a reduction gear that moves the pinion gear along the steering rack. The programming that controls the electric motor has improved in recent years so EPS these days provides precise linear steering at all speeds, as well as these benefits:
Better efficiency means saving money at the pumps
No worries about fluid leaks, broken steering pumps, bloated hoses, and cracked drive belts
Hydraulic systems are prone to failure, so EPS saves on repair costs
These advantages explain why an increasing number of aftermarket companies offer electric power assist steering conversion kits for a wide range of vehicles, including classics and hot rods.
