I am building a sloped fire pit ! Fire pit is so burn and clear my land and roots so it has big enough also for ppl to visit patio size around

Wondering if not having refractory mortar holding those fire brings in place will be an issue long term. Looks great. thanks!
Yes, I would think so. I plan on pouring a small firepit myself, but I'm going to place refractory cement in between all the firebricks before placing the assembly in the concrete forms.
Where can I get a set of those metal forms with asher slate stamp?
About four months ago I had someone pour my back patio. A couple weeks ago we had some very good weather and I decided to seal the concrete. As I was sealing it I saw tons of map cracking. Is there a way to fix it?

You don't need a band. Just place the bricks on site with some sort of glueing agent. It just has to hold in place while the concrete is poured.

With the right bit it should cut it fine, just a bit slower!

Hello. I am looking to do exactly what you did on your video but I don’t own that fire pit ring form. If I was to order all materials from you (30” form for the bricks to attach, 36” form for the outside ring, and fire bricks) what would be the price and will you do the band for me? I’m local in OH and can go pick it up or even able to do everything if you allow me to. I don’t have any means to fo the band to hold the fire bricks in place. Thanks

I went old school and used pam
how does it get airflow to the bottom?
Once you add gravel, the pit is not as deep as it looks. We've never had any complaints about airflow! If you had a deep pit you could incorporate a small conduit for airflow. Thanks for watching!

there are modifications to that which will provide a better controlled, useable, lower smoke, lower fuel consumption pit with less concrete and a better look . . . still a nice pour, i'd like to see a go back video where you went and inspected the floor of that pit and how it's performed, it could be modified without a whole lot of grief, but it'd require a drill and jack hammer :)
Concrete and fire equals huge explosion.
The fire brick makes this the perfect pit. Plain block or concrete not good. All masonry fireplaces have fire brick in them for specific reason.
