Call me old fashioned, but I am one of those who absolutely loved the old Creta. I was a Big fan.
When I saw the 2020 Creta from behind nad was heartbroken. The design is UGLY.
Now regarding the driving experience
1. Sunroof - This sunroof model is for Japan. New model isn't suited for India because a lot of hard sunlight and heat comes in.
2. Dashboard - 2 words - Seltos and Hector. Far far better.
3. Driving - Simply not the same as before, the strength and the power is gone. The steering wheel is simply bad.
Your view is certainly correct. Old Creta was perfectly designed while the new creta lacks design perfection and never looks like a SUV
The new design team should literally be fired for screwing up such a beautiful car with ugly piece of shit. I was also a huge fan of old model, new one is completely opposite

This video is particularly useful for those who ditched the old Creta without fully knowing anything much about the new Creta. We had booked 1.6 SX(O) Executive in the last week of December last year when Creta was available at a heavily discounted price. But somehow we were not fully satisfied with the fairly outdated design and features.
Expecting a waiting period of 1 month, the showroom made the car available in exactly one week. We had to make a quick decision based on the Chinese ix25 and so eventually, we converted our booking for the top model of the new Creta in the first week of January, even before the bookings commenced or the car revealed.
At the auto expo reveal, with heavy hearts we accepted the fact that we had made a blunder of a decision but still kept our fingers crossed for the features and pricing. The design was sort of hopeless and was actually exaggerated by the lighting of the expo hall. But about a week before launch, we were invited by the showroom to take a first glance at the new Creta... and that changed everything! It was such a beautiful black car with eye-pleasing interiors. I especially loved the rear (the same angle that draws most of the criticism). However radical design it may have, it will still draw the attention from everyone on the road.
Given the current sale numbers, I am quite certain that majority will change their opinion on the looks as they frequently see them roaming about the streets. I was particularly reminded of Swift Dzire's initial eye-soaring design. Everyone now has well adapted to its ordinary sedan-taxi looks.
Niall, that's exactly why we said the design is polarising. And polarising not in the negative sense, but more from the perspective that the design has an individual identity. Therefore, it'll elicit a more extreme reactions from customers. It won't be something that you're just 'ok' with. It'll be something you either strongly agree or disagree with. Like you said yourself, at the show you thought you'd made a mistake. But, in the flesh, out on the road, it was something you loved. Hence, our usage of its design being Polarising.
