Soo this whole album is talks a lot about tyler and his relationship with god. It's pretty clear that he struggled a lot with his faith, which I mean I giess is normal for people his age (was 21 by the time) this song especially talks about Tyler and his suicide thoughts. How he was suicidal and just follow the"quick way" to sea but suddenly he saw a star ship (god) who helped him keep on living. My fav part is "than you took me back to my place so I could see another day" mean god or his faith, music convienc him to stay alive, to wake up next morning. "I realised this line is dead, so I follow you instead" Tyler now knows there is no point in commiting suicide he will follow God "once again I will be in the march to the sea" basically we all gonna die at some point. We all march to the sea to death, but we can choose to live our life before we get there

But this is the first time I felt like something you said was literally directed specifically to me and my life and situation. I've experienced a life full of trials and tribulations since birth. And am currently at age 44 experiencing a period of intense change and growth, inspiration and enlightenment. But this experience is accompanied by intense feelings of insecurity, fear of change and self questioning about my life path going forward. And that simple concept you just reminded me of burst like a fireball behind my eyes. It reminded me that everything I experience in this life is for God's purpose. Not only for my personal growth, but in order to mold me to His purpose to affect the lives of His children for good. It didn't completely erase my fears and worries about the changes I need to make in my life, but it reminded me that as long as I know I'm following His will in those changes, I can have faith that He is with me and He will use all of these experiences for my benefit and His glory.

Love this song. So cryptic to make the spaceship as God. And the way i personally interpret the end is God puts him back in line to live his life among the world but different. (Makes me think of the phrase ""not of this world"" which is interesting to me because Spaceship= out of this world.)
Yeah, the last set of lyrics is referencing the fact that we all have to wake up again every morning and face the same battle. And every day we have to make that choice again, to follow Him instead. It's a theme that Tyler frequently touches on, the circular nature of things. For example when he touches on the topic of mental illness, which is very commonly a journey of repeatedly taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back over and over. And feeling like you're not making progress when you find yourself back in that familiar territory again. Basically again referencing what you mentioned about this life being a battle, and that even though he chose to follow the Lord, he is still going to have to continue to face the same day to day challenges. Edit: you can also tie it back to the Isle of Flightless Birds lyric, "but if we wake up every morning and decide what we believe, we can take apart our very heart and the light will set you free"

But yeah, it's the same theme, just a different matter. The vocals & music, they are so beautiful, true that. Tyler uses the screaming to underline something, also for showing pain or other emotion.
