Jay! Bro! You just made my day!! I was hoping and praying that someone would bring back the Captain’s Galley crab cake and crab imperial!!! For over 10 years I dined at Captains Galley II in west OC. I believe the first CG was in The Baltimore area and then moved to WOC. CG had the VERY BEST in seafood, and dining there was a real treat, especially with the salad bar boat they used to have and the giant fish tank in the center of the dining area. I can’t wait to get back to OC this summer to try them. I hope the grand daughter or who ever is related will open up a CG III. Also a really GOOD or GREAT crab cake will never need help from tartar sauce. You didn’t mention where they were located at? I had to pause the video and look on the receipt 😂😂😂😂. Thanks buddy! Thanks Scott! They had a pretty big menu, it's a small carry out type of place. They only had a few tables to dine in, but the rest of the menu looked awesome! Hope you like it, would love to know when you try it and how it relates to the original CG.
Those crab cakes looked YUMMY!!! loved the ones at CG11. Sitting laughing at my great eye to detail, took the wife at least 3 times to the food lion when we were down this past October.......and obviously drove right past it. 🤔Rest assure this spring when I take her shopping I know where I'm going to checkout. These crab cakes are a 10. They are the best around here, hands down. They don’t need tartar sauce or cocktail sauce. They stand on their own and they are perfection. None better.
Well...they cant be a 10 because theres no such thing as a perfect crab cake. These were real good, definitely in the top 5 for me! Have you tried the OC Uptown Eats crab cakes?

I’ve tried these recently. 9/2024. And they did have homemade tarter. Not sure why yours came with pre packaged. Anyway with the homemade it was awesome. However it was great without tarter as well.
Glad to hear you enjoyed them! Someone was telling me about some homemade tartar sauce they make with old bay. We're going back to do a review of the gluten free crab cakes requested by a subscriber, which should be real good!
Hey Jay. I was down OC yesterday and decided to try their crab cake sandwich. There were three options for sauce, cocktail, tarter and their homemade Galley sauce. Since I saw this review about their tarter sauce, I figured I'll try their homemade Galley sauce. It's a little spicier than regular tarter sauce. You may want to give that a try instead of the packaged tarter sauce.

I have to go by what you say about the taste but , they sure look good. I never tried tartar sauce . I prefer eating them without anything . My wife always uses mustard. Thanks for the review.

I have to say I grew up on the Shore and have never in my life heard of putting tartar sauce on a crab cake. But I def appreciate the review!
Depending on the crab cake, it gives it a whole new life! Give it a shot sometime! Especially if they do it right and do an old bay tarter sauce!

Yup! I'm trying to keep them the same-just the crab cake (no sandwhich, fries, etc) so we have a cost comparison.
