  • Update 1-18-23 all seam tape is gone.
    In this video, I demonstrate how to repair flaws or damage on RV walls with seam tape. Most RV's have interior wall covering of some sort, and eventually you may end up with some type of holes you need to patch.
    Material was purchased from Winnebago Parts directly. (winnebagoparts.com). I did an online inquiry and put in my VIN, and they emailed me with a quote.

    None of your videos are "boring"! I watch them, more than once; and take notes on products used. -Why? I'm learning, saving money and I'm NOT stupid!! THANK YOU! ☺

    I don’t know that I would have realized that seam tape was even available. We are supposed to be picking up our 23d in April or May and have been watching any videos we can find regarding that model. I find your videos to be the most informative and interesting!

      Thank you for watching. I have some other videos in the Que that should help out in the future as well. I'm sure you are excited for the delivery date.

    I continue to enjoy all your videos and your ingenious solutions and upgrades. I keep returning to many of them to try to implement them in my 2020 Navion model V. I'd also be interested in buying some of the tape that you purchased as your color scheme is exactly the same as mine (I'll send you an email). Unless I missed it, I was wondering whether you've encountered the same cracking of the clear caulking of the outside seams around the coach that I have. If you've covered it, please let me know which video that shows your technique. If you haven't had the issue or are planning on addressing it I'd love to see your solution. Thanks again for your major contribution to the View/Navion community with your videos!

      Hi Jim, you made the last of the cut off for the seam tape. It was just shipped out just a short while ago so you should get it in a few days.
      For the exterior cracked caulking, I have made a video but not edited or published yet. Hope to get to it in the next few weeks and it should be helpful.

    Thanks again Craig. Honestly, I guess I should lower my expectations, even with Winnebago, as to the construction methods and quality. Not sure what I was expecting but I should have known better being a retired aerospace engineer in the commercial jet transport area. I think the construction goals for the interiors are basically the same ... light weight, low cost and fast installation. Oh, and easily repaired.

      Mark, when you do a walk through, the Winnebago will look a little better than many others. But realistically, the entire RV industry has major improvements to make, and does not compare to anything aerospace or marine related. It's a shame, because they could implement many items without cost increases. If you get down to the nitty gritty, and dissect how most production RV's are made, and know how the walls, ceilings, and flooring are put together, you may never want an RV. But the reality is that they build them "good enough" for the consumer and pass on many headaches to them. But at the end of the day, the memories it can provide are priceless, so I would always encourage anyone to buy one and just be prepared to do some repairs. Warranty experiences for the most part are frustrating and emotional roller coasters, and are nothing like an automobile warranty.

      @@rvlifediy Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, I'm having second thoughts about the value to us of such a large investment at this point in our life. We love to travel and hope to do more but hotels and resorts might be a better option, even with the downsides associated with them. Our research into RV ownership was born out of concerns over Covid but recent experience has proven to not be all that concerning.

      @volofly2011 it's a tough decision for sure. 2nd thoughts is definitely normal. You should do a rental to see if it suits you if you haven't already.

    Another informative video - thanks! Could you share the part number for the wallpaper seam tape? Thank you.

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just noticed in the video that the part number is cut off. I threw the bag away already. Best thing to do is go to Winnebagoparts.com and fill in the parts request. They ask for your VIN number and put in request for wallpaper seam tape. They will email you back with a quote. Then you will get the correct parts for sure. Hope that helps.

    Would you be so kind as to include a link, with part numbers, to order our own (rather than deplete your stock)? For the life of me, I can’t find the part (using your part #s) with the Winnebago parts list. TY!

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I just added to the video description to winnebagoparts.com I made an online inquiry and input my VIN (that way you will get the correct part for sure). They emailed me a quote shortly after. If you just give the description of what you need, they will email you back. That way you won't order wrong parts by accident.

    With the amount of money you pay, you shouldn't have to have the seem tape coming off

      Yes, the lack of quality compared to the cost can be upsetting. At least this one was an easy fix.
