@questions9856 - it's well documented. He was about to do it and there was always something that caused it to seem like a bad idea. Most recently as far as "GHOSTBUSTERS 3 SCRIPTS REJECTED BY BILL MURRAY" go, it was when The Office writers and Ivan Reitman as director had the unfortunate flop 'Year One'. If that had been a blockbuster comedy hit, the story might have turned out differently. After that he finally DID agree to a Ghostbusters 3 and THE STUDIO decided against it and Harold Ramis became ill, or maybe BECAUSE of this.
Collider is so two faced, they release this fawning, congratulatory, everything is great interview with the films director, after giving it a 5/10 🤷🏻♂️.
There needs to be a Extended Cut. So much is missing. I don't know why he's talking nonsense. I can see why he went wrong on editing...too much sourcing of other people's opinions. If they make another one I hope Jason Reitman returns to the directing chair.
What about the longer narrative that is said by Peck in his office where he claims there were no witnesses to these bozos that leads to him saying the Ghostbusters are finished? This was an alternate take in Peck's office that happens in the beginning of the movie. What about the scene where Bill Murray in Ghostbusters uniform wearing the dark shades says Now that is some talent. Where is this scene? What about Annie Potts saying Ghostbusters what do ya want? What happened to this scene?
Movie is a disappointment. You can tell there are sooo many scenes that where cut short and that story line with Mel was a damn waste of time and just uncomfortable at one point. (Forced) Is what im looking for. Big baddy of the movie was a damn push over. The red dot ghost (posesser) or whatever had more character and was more of a threat to be honest. Its 5 out of 10 for me.
Disappointed. It lacked humour and the ending was rushed. The Melody character didn't work. Bill Murray looked disinterested. Kenan's direction was poor.

So close to being fantastic. It just needed a longer ending, extended battle maybe in a second location
What is Gil talking about? There's lots of stuff missing from the movie that were in the trailers and in the TV spots.
We really need an extended cut to put in those scenes that helped make sense of the story.
Bill Murray didn't want to do a Ghostbusters 3 for so very long because he DOES care. Not because he DOESN'T care.

Felt like Sony was too cowardly to really tell that story with Melody properly. Too much cut out.
