    Love it! I had an L Bracket, but then ended up getting an entire cage so I have full versatility and protection for my camera. Keep the tutorials coming!

    Hi Jonathan, you did a fantastic job for your first tutorial, I'm blown away :)
    And also a fantastic topic, as an L bracket is really one of the must have tools in landscape photography, on my opinion.
    I'm also happy with my Smallrig, by the way. The built quality is indeed totally important. Cheap brackets are often not sturdy enough.
    So, thumbs up for Smallrig - and for your video, of course ;)
    Nice greetings from Austria,
    Christian

    As a photographer, I've always seen L brackets as a video accessory and just an added cost/weight/footprint to me, but talking about reframing and dealing with the unbalance of moving a ball head tripod into portrait position makes a lot of sense. Now I'm annoyed I don't use any arca swiss tripods though

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a Manfrotto tripoid? I believe many of them don't use an arcaswiss plate? Since this video I've found a few quirks to the L bracket. I find it best not to have one on if mounting to a Gimbal but for photography use it's been amazing.

    • @JohnStremble
      @JohnStremble ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a few different tripods and monopods but the main tripod and monopod I use both have manfrotto heads that won't accept an arca swiss plate. My best workaround would end up being a manfrotto plate screwed both to the bottom and the side of the L bracket

    What you can recommend from Smallrig for hold type C cable on R6 with this L-plate 2976B?

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi There! What do you mean to hold? to add additional support? I use the Smallrig plate: www.smallrigreseller.com/smallrig-l-bracket-for-canon-eos-r5-and-r6-2976.html
      Same one works on the R6, the side is open so you can plug in the cables :)

    Great video Jonathan. Following and subscribing immediately. I am really into this topic these days so this was really helpful. Perhaps L-Brackets doesn't have the ability to install a top handle like you can do it with the cage, right? But rotating the camera instead of the tripod head is a win. Greetings from Denis, Croatia!

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Yes, no handle for the top but I noticed a side handle option is available through threaded attachments.
      Personally I'd probably go for a full cage for something w/ a top handle. :)

    Caution, the cut out limits the arca Swiss clamping ability, camera can fall to the ground if not careful.

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear ya, I find caution required when putting the clamp on to cover both sections or just clamp clearly to one side.

    Hi Mate,
    Just want to inquire if those pins at the sides of the L BRACKET are removable?

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Ranelle, the pins that fit into the bottom of the bracket? The one I use is meant for the R5 and the pins help keep it secure. They fit into the R5's slots.
      You can get L brackets without them though if that's an issue for you.

    Hmm think the promediagear is better you can actually rotate the screen completely, this has a notch that you can slide the screen in-between, but you can't fully rotate it, example would be if its above or below you can tilt it a bit but you can't fully rotate it.

    • @JGazze
      @JGazze  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looked it up, that's interesting. I like that you can rotate it but I don't like that it sticks out so much. Regardless of brand, I like it keeping close to the body so it isn't more bulk but I guess you get into the scenario where the rotatable screen has some limitations.
