    This makes me want to do some projects although I'm slightly terrified of getting splinters so I never really work with wood, lol. 😂

    not sure about your silver but I have had the "closest thing to chrome" spray paint that looks darn near like polished mirror like metal, when applied, after coating it with a clear sealant since touching it causes it to rub off the silver part, and the clear coat when applied caused the silver particles to float up and I guess turn sideways some of it giving it a much darker more flat unpolished grey coloration, Also the Mehr I think is the name, face makeup that is basically I think a crayon like wax with a ton TON of very VERY tiny aluminum particles in it, so that when rubbed onto something, it makes that thing look like it was cast from polished aluminum, too, when sprayed over it goes dull but I managed to pull off leaving the mirror effect by doing very super light spray a few times before giving it a full spray, so might have been able to do that with the closest thing to chrome stuff too.

      Sounds like you have had a similar issue with silver paint too then. Seen it with silver paint oil and not, and seen it with silver markers. Even if used and Oil finish on Oil paint, Oil finish on water paint, Water finish on Oil Paint or Water finish on Water Paint. Same with markers.

    I think the real issue is going to be if it fades, that pink I am betting will fade pretty hard in sunlight, where the good wood stains are not supposed to fade and may even get darker over time though that could be from the wood under it aging as I know mahogany I have as it aged got redder and redder in color, and sealing it with a clear sealant only slowed this down.

      I am betting too they will fade pretty hard with sunlight. But they will hold up better than most organic non brown pigments I'd bet.

    • @ThomasAndersonbsf
      @ThomasAndersonbsf 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TrollFaceTheMan possibly if its organic though I would think those would be dyes and not pigments as I recall it seems pigments are mineral based and dyes are organic molecules making them less robust than the mineral based ones (like what makes a rose red vs ground hematite, )

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThomasAndersonbsf To my understanding there is Natural and Unnatural Pigments and Dyes. Pigments are nearly insoluble particles like Iron Oxide, Charcoal, Crushed Red Beetles and so forth. Dyes can be things like Blue Berry Juice, Printer Ink, Goldenrod Extract, Copper Sulfate and so forth.
      Minerals shouldn't fade at all though or little vs organics can a lot.
