@@T-P. It's as simple as liking ladies that wear their hair long like Rapunzel's. I admire woman that let their hair go as long as that and they can be adored for hours if they allow you to play in it to see how it feels and if they enjoy it for hours.
"Classes" are used to regroup ships that were build under the same master plan. They have some minor changes between each of them, but the general design is quite identical. To give a famous example : The Olympic class at White Star Line in the early 1910's consisted in 3 ships : The Olympic, the titanic and the Britannic. Royal Carribean currently have 4 ships of the Oasis class, MSC have four of the Seaside class and costa have 4 (-1) of the Concordia class. And so it goes for each company 🙂

I find it hard to believe that these ships have enough lifeboats to manage so many people, both visitors and crew. Those craft on the side of the boat just don't look big enough to hold 4,000+ human souls! Although I'm sure they are. Could more be hidden inside the ship?

As a cruise ship officer I can actually tell you we don’t carry enough lifeboats for everyone aboard we haven’t had to for a while now. The idea is modern ship can be controlled in the way they now sink and we can make a ship sink really slowly enough time for another ship to arrive on the scene. So the lifeboats are mainly to transport passengers to the other ship on arrival. If the full ship had to be evacuated then the remaining passengers but mostly crew would be put in blow up life rafts

I work at a restaurant is the same building the cruise ships dock. Even the small ones are massive! Some so big it hurts your neck to look up at them.

They do. I see them up close the life boats aren't a typical lifeboat either. They're like small ships themselves. Could easily hold a few hundred ppl
