Wow! Does this bring back memories! It's been 40 years since I latched pipe and the technology and methods haven't changed a bit. Did you get a ringer?
He's lucky he probably only works where it's hot all year. You keep your hand on the pipe while the tongs kick in and if you glove freezes to the pipe it's ripping you right out off that monkey board
Wdym your supposed to help when you can always! ... I had a dude when our rod tongs messed up, he would still help out of habit, start the thread until it stopped because he realized a stand after what we were doing this dude went all out for the rest of the work day! He helped so much the floor hand would have to let go because he was spinning so fast up top. Like wtf have we had some many jokes about the dude we say he is a hammer, he is the jack, he is the one!!! Hahahaha 😅 funny thing is he thought I was more then him for some legit reasons... Getting offered 28 an hour in Bakersfield that to low? Used to drill fat ass water wells completed, with casing ext start to finish. How hard is this comparison to shit.
Notice on most derrick videos that after you throw the pipe into the elevator’s, (no matter what type of rig) it’s also the derrick man job to see the elevator’s are totally latched. At that point, it’s also his job to shut the connection down, if not latched.
If elevator is not completely latched-shut and is left partially open Derrick hand usually shouts out "snag" to floorhand, I usually always look up after latching to make sure door is shut especially with drill collars don't want floorhand getting any derrickman- donuts on foot haha
@@rogermcmahon1219 What kind of toolpush or driller would let that shit happen. Don't even get me started on the consultant. You've obviously never been on a rig in your life. Wells produce flammable gas. Any open flame around the wellhead is the easiest way to kill a crew.

Praise the Lord ànd Almighty God. This my life till I turn 60.
Praise to anyone that wants to grab some iron in the derrick. Work overs were always more fun than a digging rig.
Derrick, pipe, block, elevator..everything is so tiny..its cute, lol!

Ya and on a free 8 line block in a standard derick
Depends on where you’re working I guess. What rig, company
Hello Sir, I want to talk to you regarding offshore oil rig jobs. Can you please share your telegram link or any contact so that I can contact you?
@Dfred61
Sheesh you old
Operator never gave me enough time to think about a camera. Lol. He wanted to go home as much as any of us.
I was gonna say service rigs are so easy but damn they move quick lol
If I was young again I'd love to do that.
That’s some hobble. Back in the 60’s we had nice rubber ones lol
You work in the oil field
Giving floorhand a" courtesy- thread", nice job.

That’s probably a GoPro connected to his hard hat

It’s my new job lol I worked floors on drilling side but never production that’s why I’m here
Hard work that. Especially in North Sea 3 AM hauling in drill pipe in a blizzard.

What happens if he misses closing it ?
Then it could slide out lol

The stand could fall across the derrick and is a pain to get back... usually requires air hoists and a lot of cursing
Good old days
Getting offered 28 to start is that to low’?
Can you imagine the wind-chill mid winter ❄️!? No treeline no buildings
Did that shit right on the Montana/north Dakota line in winter, it sucked.
Самая интересная работа! С удовольствием бы вернулся. Работал на берегу ледовитого океана зимой и летом😂
Good ol Basic Energy.
Those MYT elevators can be a pain. At least they don’t make you stop.
I'm on my second day of derrik man and geez it's some tuff work
What company? Dayrate?
It’s not that bad
I'm a noob... What happens if you "miss" to grab the handles..?
Hopefully the driller stops, before they hit the top of the rig and the line come apart and it kills everybody...

@@christophercarrillo4726 and I forgot... The rig explode...
I worked a bit on those taylor rigs and must say I didn't care too much for them!!
Looks like a tinker toy rig 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 triples only boy 👍👍👍👍
Very nice I wash for work your elecitric
Did anyone else move their head back when the crane thing came up?
My son did, stunned at how dangerous that was,
This is very easy, it s a small service rig , you should try the big drilling Rigs and you will see 😄😄😄
I have done both my man and I’m telling you service rigs move way faster and your hurting way more at the end of the day especially for the floors
Grandma was slow but she was old! 😜😜😜
Damn could have ran in a row and a half by the time you guys got the blocks up to your board
Great video
Drilling..safety is number one..goob job..
Sometimes the floor hands would send the elevator up backwards, then you got to twirl it back and latch the elevator not slowing down.
Guys on my crew would shoot bottle rockets up the Derrick at me...I'd throw firecrackers down at them.

Description says Oil Rig, should say work over rig.
Very good 😛
Crazy I just looked up pay for this job and it’s insanely low said average is 24 a hour that’s nuts

The 2 7/8 ain't tough n work over rigs ain't better than drilling rigs 😎

Too much risky job
Неодекватное поведение ни для чего

Yup
Actually... I have made more money with democrats in office than republicans...All the restrictions they drive up the price...
Work over rig not oil rig. Look up drilling rig that’s where the real work is at. 5” to 6” drill pipe 10” to 12” collars.
Where in the hell have u ever seen 12 inch collars I'd like to know
