What could be interesting is to have a Gen based not on a specific country, but the Mediterranean itself. Imagine a region with water at the core, mountains to the north and a desert to the south, with elements of Rome, Egypt, Greece and Jerusalem mixed together.
Yeah, as much as I want a Philippines based region, something with Greece, Egypt or the Mediterranean is cool.

I actually came up with a potential name for a Set animal Pokémon: Sharamal. The name comes from Sha (another name for the Set animal) and ramal (an Egyptian word for sand).

8:59 A fun thing you could do with the Jackalope is make it a poison dark type as the "horns" in "real" jackalopes are actually cancerous tumors so maybe the horns could be tentacle-like or fleshy, and its motif could be disorder.

I’ve actually come up with another mythological creature to be turned into a Pokémon: the Fetterling. Fetterlings are African mythological creatures that are basically sentient chains with a handcuff for its head. It was described in the book “Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky”, which is a Rick Riordan Presents book, and there were also two stronger forms in the story (which also gained manacled claws for better ensnarement). That got me thinking that it could make an interesting basis for a Pokémon. They would obviously be Steel type, have high speed and good physical attack, and their movepool would contain several biting and constricting moves (including Jaw Lock).
I’ve also come up with names for the stages: Linkroph, Mambrace, and Shakahl. Their names come from different snake families that live in Africa (Lamprophis, Mamba/Cobra, Rinkhal), and they would incorporate aspects from those snakes. Also I believe they should reference chains in their design by incorporating them into their scale patterns, as well as having manacles on their tails and as retractable mandibles. Wild Linkrophs would use these manacle-like grips by linking to each other to better ensnare their opponents. As for the evolutions, Mambrace would gain arms, cuff-like claws, and a cobra ‘hood’ that appears similar to chain mail that it uses to intimidate its foes. For Shakahl, it could potentially become a winged serpent and gain the flying type (as winged serpents appear in Egyptian mythology).

Youre both close but not really. Medusa and her sisters were priestess in Athenas temple, who had an oath of chestity obvi, and poseidon came into the temple and charmed them before he raped them. Medusa begged Athena for mercy and because Athena knew she had to give her a punishment but also knew it wasnt her fault, she gave her the "curse". Or atleast it looked like a curse to the other gods. Athena actually gave medusa the ability to protect herself from ever being raped again

In one version of Medusa’s tale, when she is beheaded, Pegasus rises from her spilt blood.
Common misconception. Medusas first recorded myth is that she part of the gorgon sisters. The posiedon thing came along way after that

"Alicorn" is what winged unicorns are known as in My Little Pony, but in actuality, "Alicorn" refers to what a unicorn's horn is made of. "Pegacorn" would be a more universal term, though I will concede that sounds somewhat silly.

I vote for the Kirin / Qilin. I especially love many of the Magic: the Gathering renditions of them (Heavenly Qilin, specifically). Qilin have the bodies of goats and the heads of dragons and heralds the coming of a celestial sage / ruler (to my understanding).

I think a Cactus Cat Pokémon would be cool too. It originated as a mythical creature in Southwest American folklore and the myth goes something like this:
"It's a lion-like cactus creature that is said to be covered in hair-like thorns, with particularly long spines extending from the legs and its armored, branching tail. It uses its spines to slash cacti at night, allowing juice to run from the plants. On later nights, the creature was said to return to drink the now fermented juice.
The then-drunken creature was said to meow at doorsteps during the night. The cactus cat was a very hostile creature towards any animal in their territory. Animals that crossed them often ended up with large puncture wounds, and sometimes fatal injuries. It was a desert predator. To avoid the harsh heat, they'd carve out the inside of a cactus and sleep through the day. It eats the bugs and juice of the cactus, keeping it hydrated. They were said to be immune to scorpion venom and would hunt them at night" - Wikipedia
It could be a Grass/Steel, Grass/Ground, Grass/Normal, Grass/Fairy, Grass/Ghost, or pure Grass type. I think Grass/Dragon could also be a cool typing for it and all you'd have to do is make it partly based after dragon fruit cactuses.
Grass/Fighting or Grass/Dark could work too but we already have Breloom and Cacturne and whilst we could overlap with them (Preferably Brelooms typing) I think most of the other types I listed could work and I would like to have one of those combinations instead. I think it'd be lame to have 2 different cactus pokemon and have them both be Grass/Dark types and then with Breloom, I just really like Breloom and I don't really think we need another Grass/Fighting type. Well, at the moment anyways. Breloom deserves more love.
I also think if they were to add Jackalopes into Pokémon it'd be cool if they were a really rare spawn most of the time but for 2 hours everyday their spawn rates went up to something like 30~40%

Personally, I'd say we could also make a connection in the Griffon Pokemon to the Greek Sphinx as the Sphinx is itself much like the Griffon; body of a lion, wings of an eagle, and its head could actually vary between human, falcon, cat, or sheep. While the human head is what we always associate with it, it was *not always a human head.* The Criosphinx is actually the same as any other sphinx, anyway, just with a different head. The ram one was criosphinx, and the hawk one was hieracosphinx.
One Sphinx, the one that I could see being mixed with the Griffon, was a Greek female, while the Egyptian Sphinx that we always see is male. In fact, that could be a duo of Pokemon with the female Greek one being like a mix of a Griffon and their Sphinx, and thus I could see her being Flying/Steel given the Griffon's connection to gold, and while able to fight if she needs, is actually tired of fighting, and just wants peace. I'm not sure what the Egyptian male would be like, though. All I could think of for him would be Flying/Ground with control over sand.
A Pegasus Pokémon would have been perfect back when HMs were still a thing. Lots of players would use it as their flyer
Should've had Rapidash as a flaming unicorn breed with Zebstrika as an electric, and together they'd make a Fire/Electric Winged Unicorn with levitate
A Good Griffin Pokemon Would be a Fairy/Flying type, fairy due to being a part of a different world, like an ultra beast from a fairy world and it is a legendary for your game with team pixie dust, they are also trying to control the griffin pokemon (suggested name mythyin "Mythical Griffin") but at the top of the radio tower it changes all of the pokemon to normal, after the battle with team pixie dust, it leaves to the shrine and you follow it, and then a battle starts (your pokemon are healed) and you catch it finally and go on with your journey
If rapidash got an evolution that had wings, it wouldn't be a Pegasus. It would be an alicorn, pega-corn for those who don't care for mlp.

Alicorn isn't specific to MLP. It's been used since 1930 at the latest to refer to Unicorn Horns, and was later repurposed to refer to winged unicorns.

The Minotaur came from a special bull sent to some rando king from Poseidon. The rando king promised to sacrifice it to Poseidon but when he changed his mind and kept it for breeding purposes, Poseidon got mad and enlisted Aphrodite’s help. Aphrodite made the queen of the rando king fall in love with the bull. The queen blackmailed Daedalus into creating a sexy bull costume for her and the Minotaur was born. The love spell was broken immediately after birth and in embarrassment, the Minotaur was locked in the labyrinth, created by none other than Daedalus, the cow making costume person, himself.

@@Unikt_brugernavn2979 just because Keldeo has the water type, doesn't mean it's not a unicorn. In it's second form it does have a horn, so it is one. Rapidash is a horse with a horn, which is exactly what a unicorn is surposed to be.

@@justhavingsomefun9539 I just looked it up and Keldeo is in fact based off a mythical water spirit named Kelpie, so you're right. The Kelpie can appear as a horse or as a unicorn. Also, Keldeo has a horn in both of its forms, just the resolute form has a larger one.

@@frederickschiller2185 It's not Ri-or-don, it's Rear-don. It's an Irish name pronounced in Gaeilge (not Gaelic) as Rear-don. The author himself, I assume, is American and does not know the actual native pronunciation in Ireland so to an Irish person, it's entirely wrong.

A fun fairy type would be the “Green Faerie” a French sprite that haunts people that drink absinthe, a green alcoholic beverage
So a Fairy type that makes other Pokémon indulge in magical drinks to inflict a lot of status effects would be funny
Maybe a signature Fairy type move called “Vice” that inflicts an effect that makes the target sleep and take damage would be interesting

Lol I love the Minotaur myth, here’s the story:
Once there was a prince, and a girl. The father of the prince didn’t want his son to marry the girl, so he made a bet: ‘If you kill the Minotaur, you can marry her’ and the prince said yes, then, the father said ‘Go with the ship, if you come back with a white flag, ur not dead, if you come back with a black flag, ur dead.’ So the journey began. Once he killed the Minotaur, he didn’t like the girl anymore, and they slept on the island because they were tired. In the middle of the night the prince woke up and left the girl on the island, but he had to be fast and so forgot the put on the white flag. Once he came back the king saw it, he said: ‘How could I live without my son!’ And he commited suicide by jumping off the building, but the prince was still alive. The end.
He meant the origins of the Minotaur which was something like a girl and a prize bull mating for some reason I forgot

Some more mythological Pokémon:
Merman/mermaid - Just don't make it too human. Give it fish skin and gills. (Water)
Chimera (Fire/Poison)
Hieracosphinx - Body of a lion, head of a hawk (Ground)
Norse troll - Moss-covered giants with huge noses (Rock/Grass)
Goblin - Googling said Sableye is one, but i was thinking of green goblins with clubs (Fighting?)
Kappa - Turtle with a water bowl on his head (Water/Psychic)
Nokken - Being who transforms into a beautiful person to lure people into the water to drown. (Water/Ghost)
Tengu - Demons with bird claws and long noses. (Dark/Flying)
Lombre is already a kappa and Shiftry is a tengu. Type: Null is a chimera (although a disapppointing one). And yeah, Sableye is a goblin.

Lombre does not look like that. He's no turtle and has no shell.
Chimeras have three heads, usually of a goat, a lion and a snake/dragon.
If Sableye is indeed a goblin we could have another. Either that or an Ogre.

@@Purpylon I know what a kappa looks like. But Lombre is still based on one, and it's very obvious, too. It has the cup on its head (even though it doubles as a waterlily), it has the beak, it has the claws, it has a colour pattern to represent the hair (you could count the waterlily as a possibility for it, too), and it's bipedal. The only thing missing is the turtle shell.
I know what a traditional chimera looks like. But chimera is also a term for mix-and-match creatures that are just inspired by the original one, and Type: Null is definitely one of those. It has a lion's mane, too, to get it at least a little closer to the original. But yes, it's not a perfect chimera and we should definitely get one those. Still, it's obviously chimera inspired and might prevent us from getting a better one anytime soon.
An ogre would be awesome.

12:56 I can explain. Poseidon is the god of the sea, earthquakes and horses. Medusa was once a human that served Athena, and was got with Poseidon. Athena was pissed and cursed medusa. When Perseus chopped off Medusa’s head, Medusa’s son, and Pegasus were born. (Also anyone that reads Percy Jackson, isn’t it weird that Blackjack and Percy are related?)
In a way he cuts off the head of his fathers fling..that’s weird.
