      @@itspennyduh thanks. Was Airborne too. Got my Thai jump wings back in 2002. Of course, we had some over eager Marine Pilots that did not slow down enough prior to the DZ. On exit, I had a complete inversion and a blown gore. We were using the MC-1s. I hit like a ton of bricks. It sucked like nothing I've ever experienced. Didn't break anything. 65 some odd jumps and no broken bones or serious injuries. I was really popular with our Royal Thai Army partners after that. I was considered "charmed" and favored by Bhudda. I drank so much Mekong (Thai whiskey with a Cobra inside the bottle) and coke... Cobra Gold was insane back in the day.

      @@Jr-vx8bu I'm not sure what degree you're talking about. Truly. I don't know what that $250 degree means. I got an Associates from a Community college and my first B.S. from a university. I earned my second BS after retiring.
      Look, you've had bad experiences with Warrants. Your experiences do not necessarily extend to ask career fields and all technicians.
      Honestly, I'm sorry you've had bad experiences. It sounds like you've seen and endured some seriously poor leadership and representation from other Warrant Officers. I'm sorry you've experienced that. Truly.
      I was in a very specific career field. In my field, the Warrants led the way. It's similar to watercraft operations or CID. Commissioned Officers come and go... However, it is up to the Warrants and NCOs in my field to get things done. Unfortunately, the NCOs are often saddled with managing or overseeing training and admin requirements.
      It's always a challenge in my career field to define success. If everything is smooth and nothing bad happens, then it's a success. When something "breaks", it is a problem and we had better fix it ASAP.
      As for getting my hands dirty, I was right there with all the troops. I held several certifications necessary for the unit to execute the mission and I was often right in the thick of it.
      There is nothing better than showing Enlisted personnel tips and tricks on how do key tasks related to the mission. That was a wonderful part of my job.
      I was constantly running out to my soldiers when on deployment as they were often attached to maneuver units. I even volunteered to support a military transition team in Iraq. We hit 2 IEDs in 2009. One flipped us and killed the gunner. I kept going out. I'd rather it be me at risk than my soldiers. I don't give a damn about medals or crap like that. I cared about them and making sure the mission was accomplished

      They are really their own class, however, they are assigned officer housing with their families and are included in officer activities and members of the officers club, so the lean is probably more to being grouped with the officers.

    The big misconception is that just because you have a degree you automatically come in as an officer. There is a limited amount of commissioned officer slots and the Army is going to choose the best candidate, especially now that the war on terror just ended. Make sure you have a high college GPA and your background is impressive and squeaky clean. The last couple of years there was about 6,000 ROTC cadets that graduated college and the Army only picked about 3,000 for active duty. The rest got sent to Reserves and NG, and a few got denied a commission.

      In Hawaii there are a lot of Samoans, Tongans various islanders. They all like to parties and have lots of fun. They enjoy joking around, but they can also be serious. As long you show respect to the culture and people, you’re in good hands. You’ll be part of the Ohana. My best friend is Samoan, I have known him for over 30 yrs.

  • @austinaustile9444

    The Chief said if I have a degree, don't come in enlisted. What if I have an associate's degree? Should I keep taking the ASVAB until I get my GT score higher than 110 or should I enlist and get my bachelor's degree and still take the test?

    • @Reaghansdad1
      @Reaghansdad1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need a bachelors degree to go officer and Bro if you have to KEEP TAKING it, you need to just enlist. That test is not hard.

    • @austinaustile9444
      @austinaustile9444 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Reaghansdad1 Ok. I know for the airforce you need a bachelors degree for officer. I heard that the Warrent officer in the army you don't need a bachelors degree, right?

      Austin Austile I’m a Navy Warrant. We don’t need degrees at all...you likely won’t promote past W3 if if you don’t get one eventually. No idea about the army. Talk to a recruiter.

    I was in the US Navy. From my personal observation, the Navy warrant officers didn't act and talk like these two Army warrant officers.
    The Navy warrant officers didn't talk casually, they were more stoic. Many ship's company Navy officers and warrant officers are like zombies! They look exhausted, straight faced and sad!

    • @adonisguy3243
      @adonisguy3243 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Aaron Foy ,
      agree! some people thinks that the Navy is alot easier than Marines and Army. It's not!
      Sailors and officers have alot on their plate. i.e. General Quarters like fire fighting, flood fighting and damage control, guard duty plus MOS.

      What’s the point of walking around all pissed off all day? We need to make the best of our situation and as we were filming this video in a country far from home, we decided to have a little fun to take our minds off of everything happening.
      I’ve worked with some grouchy people and can conclusively say that just because they look more “stoic” doesn’t mean they’re any more professional. I’m a professional and efficient in everything I do; the difference is I try to remember that work isn’t everything and that I can’t take everything too seriously.
