- The update that drops on Dec. 6, 2022 in The Hunter Call of the Wild will changed MedVed FOREVER! MedVed has had Gray Wolves and Western Capercaillie added to it! And Eurasian Lynx have a DRINK TIME AGAIN!!! YAYYYYY!!! This map has always been one of my favourites but with the new species being added and the Great One MOOSE being added to the game, this map will FINALLY get the LOVE it deserves! I do LOVE MedVed! And now I love it EVEN MORE!!!!

Actually having to worry about being attacked is exactly what The Hunter needed. A pack of wolves activates that instinctual part of the brain. This looks so exciting and fun!
Now if we could just get bears to attack, that would bottom hands down do it for this game

This is dope! Medved is now getting a bit terrifying and dangerous with moose turning aggressive and wolves being added to the reserve. All as it should be. I really do wish that bears and boar (among other animals) would turn aggressive though, that’d really make places like Yukon, Cuatro, and Medved far more exciting!

Boars were definitely aggressive last time I got too close. But they will not run at you from far away once they hear a shot, that's kinda stupid IMO anyway.
@@demoncore5342 Correct me if I’m dead wrong, but I just kinda find it weird that they made wolves in the game super aggressive and not most other predators like bears, boars, and mountain lions/pumas. I feel like those animals should at least have a chance to be super aggressive like the wolves.
@@evanparks4123 It is wrong. Like buffaloes are damn aggressive and kinda vicious, but they will not rush in to mess you up once they notice you from far away. Most animals will avoid the confrontation and turn aggressive only if surprised close up. Unless it's something that actively hunts you, what wolves could do, but in general only polar bears, tigers and lions (possibly chimpanzees) are known to do.
@@demoncore5342 I did say correct me if I’m wrong did I not? hahaha! In all due seriousness, that makes a lot of sense for animals in the game to react like they do in real life.
EDIT: Now speaking of lions and buffalo, for some reason I wanna try out Vurhonga or Parque Fernando.
I’m so pumped. It seems like the devs are finally trying to really improve the game! With lynx drinking, I hope they change mountain goats back to drinking again. I love this game. Hopefully they improve lodges like more mounts, plaques, sorting trophies, and a larger North American style lodge.

I am super excited once again for the new update! They keep stepping it up, im hopeful for a lodge update in the coming year. Medved itself will provide me hours of playtime doing a moose grind and rare capercallies, maybe even finally a mela wolf!
I've played mostly in Cuatro Colinas and Yukon lately so I've been getting practice for Medved! Medved's already been one of my favourites and I can't wait to hunt there after the update. That aggressive moose looked fun!
Would love if in the trophy lodges when investigateing the mounts it would say which gun was used and where it was taken or just bring up the kill recap screen
Same!! For now I don't mix reserves that contain the same animal spicies in my lodges just so that I know for sure where I shot It.. I am then planing to mix my best trophies from all reservs in one lodge and make a list of every animal I add where I write down which reserv it came from. Sooo much excessive work!!!
Great. Hopefully getting my nighttime diamond Lynx won't have me looking over my shoulder for wolves! As an aside: I can't help but feel the weapon skins take away the terrific details in the weapons (poor devs). But overall, as a Medved fan, the update will literally change the hunting experience for the map. Mostly happy.

I had one of those Wolf moments when I first entered Yukon.
Was looking for a Moose that I had tracks of for my first kill on the map when I heard the growling. I had the luck of packing a Shotgun (I think the Caversham) but for wanting to take on birds. So had auto-run engaged, changed ammunition, reloaded and turned around to see them still on my tail.
Had to take out 3 out of 4 before the last one ran...
I was high as a kite on adrenaline and it took me a good 10 minutes before I had calmed down enough to harvest them...

I think medved already had a quite eerie, lonley, spookey vibe too it before with the music score on the reserve and just the overall setting. But now that it is going to have wolves as well... just awsome. Medved really gives an experience that makes it stand out among all the maps I have visited so far (all reservs from Hirsch - SRP). great update and nice video, Lady!

Awesome! I have been hunting on the lake next where you encountered the wolves and found a mythical lynx and a troll Reindeer. I think the wolves are awesome addition to this allready awesome map. I just love hunting in the snow.
Do you have to be a certain level in order to get special animals like legendary or rare or whatever? I have been playing on the base map and haven't found anything legendary or rare or whatever. Do you have to be a certain level for them to show or are they only on the dlc maps?
So many angry animals on med ved! Got my 299.6 moose 1363lbs, followed by a mela brown bear (gold) and it was all thanks to your super guides! You are the best!

Now the Medved-Taiga reserve is getting more interesting with the addition of the wolf and the capercaillie and to see how the wolf is more aggressive and the moose too, I find the challenge more interesting and immersive. I find it a bit unfortunate that the dog is not more aggressive towards the pack of wolves the dev team should improve its aggressiveness so that it is more defensive by moving the pack away a bit and giving you the time to target a few wolves.
I noticed that when you harvest the wolf you killed in the harvest screen it says gray the color of the wolf and I find that the color is more of an ocher green than grey, what do you think? It should have polar bear too but I don't know if Medved who is in Russia have polar bear in the area? Congratulations on getting a diamond by killing the legendary wolf.

Did you know those can actually attack you? It happened to me on Revontuli. I was walking along the boardwalk at the beginning of the map, heard its call, my screen flashed red, and a Capercaillie just ran right by me. 😂
Yes I was attacked by a diamond capercaillie while I was grinding for whitetail. Shot it with the 300. OOOps
This is awesome, I just have one question. When I hunt moose in cotw I always scare them away before I can get a good shot. Have any tips for me?

Hey, does anyone know if the Glock from the Assorted Sidearms DLC will be a good protection weapon for the wolves. I once took out a bear with 3 shots from the Glock 10mm hollow point

Medved looks great - can't wait. Question: When I watch you or other content creators and they show a hotspot map (for example whitetail deer) - how is it that the only zones visible are specific to the corresponding species? Is there a way to filter this when looking at my map?

I LOVE that they’re bringing gray wolves. I’m glad I got my diamond moose before the reset, it took me like 2 or 3 weeks to get it. Great update, I like it

Ok so I bought New Zealand to grind for red deer GO and I find 4 piebald females, 3-4 9s, 1 albino and one of the males was a 269-315 it scored 270.52

I have a tip for when you have wolves attack you,so when you have a pack of wolves coming for you kill the higher levle one and then the second because them they won't have a leader so then they'll just run.

There's nothing more terrifying than being in tall grass and hearing a lion growl with no direction. So having a tractor sized moose bearing down on you is going to be awesome!

Great video! I guess I am coming out of retirement hunting when new map and update happens Tuesday. I will enjoy hunting in Med Ved because I will enjoy the aggression from the wolves and moose!!!

I've been in med ved for a week and I was walking in the dark playing with headphones and then suddenly my dog starts barking. Mind you I have my flashlight off. Suddenly heard growling and red yellowish eyes in the dark. What I had was a 308 I started to panic when they chased me around.
Against wolves, Sundberg not a good choice(specially with the scope), they dont move like Buffalos/Bisons. They're too quick also even tho they're only level 5 , they're rarely go down with 1 shot. Just scope of your 4-8 rifle and get to the job or shotgun with slugshot.

I like the additions of wolves and making the moose aggressive. They are like that in real life and it makes this map more interesting . This is exactly what this map needed

I bought medved recently and the first animal I saw after the doe by the start was a lone wolf that came out of a bush and got aggressive. I shot it with the 10mm pistol and it was a diamond.

My Medved wolves are acting super weird. They no longer flee, like they do on Yukon and Cuatro. They just mill about after I take them out.
Also has anyone seen wolves chasing bears??? I saw this in the central corridor of the map. Thought they were running in the same direction but the wolf was definitely bird dogging a brown bear.

Question , lady; I noticed you don’t seem to be concerned with running on the ice. How come? I avoided the areas where you here a cracking noise, usually grey-ish in color or darker than the other ice….
I rarely fall through. Need to hunt out there. If you do start to fall through and you're hunting with your dog, call him over and give him a pat, it'll pull you out!

Finally, they added wolves to the Taiga. To be honest, it was a stupid idea not to add them when the reserve was released. We have a lot of fairy tales in Russia where the gray wolf is one of the characters, whether evil or good. Plus, according to Wikipedia, the range of the gray wolf just affects the whole of Siberia.
When MedVed came out, there were no wolves in the game at all at that time
It will be like 4 aggressive species on the map... Hope moose is not like African buffalo aggressive, but yeah, night hunts used to be scary enough in Medved with boars. I wonder if I should not carry a shotie instead a revolver as backup!
I wonder...is there a way to survive a lion attack in this game, without putting a chair up ? I tried provoking an attack and shooting a charging one with either the nitro or .454 but they will drive through you like a train unless you manage to hit the heart or brain, they turn hard enough to follow your evasions too :)
I also wonder how would that 10mm glock work for wolf or bear self defence ?
im going to go there first and do a night hunt with the semi-auto 308 and nv rifle sight for wolves.

Even the snow chicken ting attacks you in medved. Probably the most wild map (while even lacking bison/buffalo). Also, for money grinders, dont sleep on Medved. Medved is one of the only maps that ain't have any time gap or wasted time. The Drink Hours in Medvet is 24 hour full You just cover the hot spots with tripods, treestands, tents and never rest in the game cuz there is a time for every species in the game for drinking. Yes Medved aint have many species or variety of'em but the numbers of animals from each species in Medved is very high.
Better than Vurhango Sawanna , Parque Fernando imo.
Medved is my most played map. Cuz I'm new to the game (I bought after the patch that this video is about) and Medved was awesome for me. Also cuz there aint a class 9 animal and the class 1 is very situational. Making a loadout in Medved is crazy easy. Zarza-10 + Vasquez Air Rifle is all you need. And you might want .243 or Docent for Lynx grind.(for Musk Deer grind)
Also the night hunting great here cuz white floor and covering makes it much easier when it comes to nigh-sight. Easy to spot animals and such.
Another great stuff about Medved, in every other map rotating around lakes and poddles is hard, You need to circle around for avoiding bad wind or for tracking.
In MEdved %90 of the water is frozen. So you can walk on lakes, you can run across or put a tripod right on the middle. Easy to position yourself.
The only downside might be the fact that animal population (in terms of hotspots) not equally shared thru the map. Most of the time you're gonna be on the frozen river, north west coast and north east big lake. Other than river at the middle, most of the time you aint gonna explore or use south of the map. That might be the only let down but even then, southwest of the map is pretty surprising.
Anyway, I love Medved, very underrated.
Btw I dont know why at night Wild Boars also super aggressive in Medved too.
And one last note, cuz of this aggressiveness of Medved always carry a tripod for secure yourself.
