What is meant by the term basicity? Predict the basicity of H2SO4 in the following reaction.
Ans: The number of replaceable hydrogen present in acid is called basicity. Generally basicity of sulfuric acid is two due to presence of two replaceable hydrogen but in case above reaction sulfuric acid replace only one hydrogen by sodium, therefore basicity of sulfuric acid in above reaction is one.
