The code for the shadows was actually pretty simple, it was just super annoying to make. I'm using Unreal Engines built in lighting engine to make the shadow effect, so i just ticked a box "cast shadows". But it ended up not being that easy. At first i tried setting all light sources to cast shadows, but it immediately melted my pc, so i settled on only the flares. Then I realized that the shadows were pitch black, so I had to rewrite almost all of the flare logic to use two light sources instead of one. One light source casts shadows and the second one doesn't, but is much dimmer. It took forever because you can't just modify the code on an asset, you have to replace the entire thing. It was so much work the change one little thing.
if i were to guess the code for it is much easier than one could anticipate, as its likely just enabling some feature of UE4. I wouldnt expect much complex logic there. Although im impressed it looks the way it does, with how many light sources there are in this game and how much shadows are going on i expected a clusterfuck of a lightshow.
You can always make cover versions of the song -- However you need a license (which is fairly easy to obtain) and you will share a fixed amount of your royalties with the songwriters.

You really need a beefy GPU for that mod. My old RX580 is crying in 5fps when the entire team throws its flares xD.

mostly impressed how it doesnt bring any pc to its knees. because the game has terrible performance
