    I bought on of these jacket about 15 years ago. I had a production date of 1996. I paid 12 bucks for it and I used to wear it to my job at an auto assembly plant.I was happy with it . The jacket shown here is pretty similar , the only difference I noticed was that the zipper doesn’t come all the way to the bottom.

    Just a small correction for you. A parka has an external hood (sometimes detachable, but always external). The length of a jacket has nothing to do with it. So this is a field jacket with an internal hood, not a parka.

      Well well...I've seen ppl correct Others grammar, but correcting the use of whole meanings of words...parka=jacket=coat=all the same to a dude 🇬🇧🎈but you're correct its an Austrian m665 field jacket 🎈

      from what i've found with a few quick searches, you are not entirely correct. the length of the garment is something mentioned in every source i looked at, with parkas always being long (often coming down to the upper thigh, sometimes lower) and often coming with a hood, none of them said anything about an "external" hood, just that parkas were long and came with hoods, typically the hoods were lined with fur or fake fur, but not always.

    So in 2024 I've just come across your video, I have a m65 jacket in woodland camo that I've had for quite a long time but wanted one in od , well od m65 jackets are hard to come by now and imo very expensive, so I found the austrian m65 parka online brand new oid stock for around $55 delivered, this is a very nice jacket, very similar to my American m65 woodland camo , it's about 5 inches longer , has no velcro its all buttons very well made fantastic materials, thanks for your video 10 years later

    Hi, we are more or less the same size. You said the "Large" was tight, but could you share the labeled size of the jacket that was tight and the one that fit, e.g. 104-108 III-IV.

    Hey, it's been 8 years, but what length was this? Short Regular or Long?

    I have one of these - it's an odd size, simultaneously bulky but a surprisingly tight fit. The hip pockets are tight as well. It's really warm though. It would be really good if you had to stand around in the cold for any length of time. Not sure how well it would hold up to a downpour. It would make a lot of sense as a moped / motorbike jacket.

    Is it made of Gortex? And have you worn it in heavy rain?

    How waterproof?

    • @TacError
      @TacError 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This version has a water-resistant coating but is definitely not waterproof. During the 1990s the Austrians upgraded this jacket by including a Goretex membrane between the shell and lining, which may be of interest...

      @@TacError the outside of that version is not water resistant but the membrane certainly is.

    Ive just bought the same jacket (shorter length) much better made compared with the American M65 and yes Ive owned both, along with many other jackets and this gets a "Citizen H" seal of approval,

    L XL. That isn't how they are sized NATO sizing metric ??

    • @gold8857
      @gold8857 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that only applies to the USA, in NATO countries it is normal to use the recommended measures in the form of a 4-digit code, And Austria is not part of NATO, so it has its own military sizing system.
