I love these setup videos. I know it's a lot of work to post videos but I hope to see you guys post more regularly because I really do find the videos both entertaining and informative. Whatever other rides youg guys own or have access to please record the setups and upload. Thanks a million.
We used lemon pledge only on the first 2 humps.. I like your slide with the hinged possum belly doors.. our slide was a lot older with heavy duty plywood panels.. you are lucky with the fold down lollipop lights.. the older slides the drivers side lollipops were stored in the possum belly.. also I like how the top platform is hydraulic , our old slide the top platform folded under and had to be raised and assembled
This is Better than a Tutorial and the Ride Manufacturer should be Interested in having you Describe it just like you did for us. You’re ALL about Safety. Thanks!👍🙏
You seem to be happy not using those heaters, but there are non contact voltage detectors that can be used to determine the location of a wire break. Consumer grade ones are used to find the blown bulb on Christmas lights.
Very informative video. The narrator here clearly has a ton of experience and knowledge in this field. It would be great to see the lighting system re-design and installation in a future video!
You are a man after my own heart and for love of the rides .I am in the UK and worked on a number of big rides like you I keep looking and hearing for any unwanted movement or noises .L hàve been on or looking at different rides. And pointed faults out that if not repaired it will be a bigger job and could hurt passengers on the rides. you also need a good work force so they can say I heard a noise and stopped the ride safety is paramount as you are dealing with people's lives . Oh by the way love your video,s .good luck In the future...
On your Farris wheel, the seats look like the ones on the Chance Sky Wheel because of the holes on them. Also this was a fun video you shared. I remember setting up and tearing down.
I use some tyre shine on my slide, almost identical slide, and by the sounds of your comments, the tyre shine I use is similar to your product. Great video
Pledge is what we used for a Darton slide. It's been over 10 years so my memory may be foggy, but the issue was always rain and wild temperature fluctuations (i.e. going from cold overcast mornings to bright sunshine in afternoon). I've heard stories about various spray waxes, but have no experience. I think slides in general are pretty finicky, but they're certainly one of the most popular rides among the kids.
Special spray, 😂 furniture polish... We use lemon scented pledge. I set up a dartron slide every week. It was interesting to see one different. By the way I love your videos man keep it up.
May I suggest you add some spring washers in between the nuts and flat washers. It will add a bit of extra security. As for when you do the lighting upgrade, have you thought about adding some batteries and an inverter? Maybe not for running the hydraulics, but you could run the LED lights all night long easily. I have a marine inverter / charger that I use as a backup power system for my computer. It has mains AC power in, AC power out and a DC battery connection. It can use the battery to generate AC power, if mains power is available it will use that and also recharge the battery. If the mains power isn't sufficient for the AC load, it can use the battery to supplement it. So in my case, I set the Mains AC input limit at 10 amps (220v Australia), the inverter can produce around 13 amps of power, so i can safely hook up and run 20 amps of power for as long as my batteries have charge. And when load drops below 10 amps, say 8 amps, that spare power (2 amps in this case) will be used to recharge the battery. Not trying to sell a specific product, hence not mentioning any brand names, but these systems can even be hooked together to increase power output and even to generate three phase power. They won't make any sense for most of your rides, but for something that just needs some lights and maybe music then what's more considerate than batteries. Not to mention the ease of not needing to run a cable. You might even get away with a small noisy gas generator working together with your batteries and inverter for setting up.
Just subscribed to your channel love the content 👍👍I see that a lot of your rides are quite old and require a lot of hands on heavy lifting which I love , Here in the Uk a lot of the rides the travelling Showmen have are very modern and are mostly automotive set up with minimal lifting unlike the old days 👍Great vids very informative keep them coming 👍👍👍
Seems like you show up to the sites early. Meaning before the other rides or attractions are there. Is that intentional to have more room to operate set up? And do you wait for others to leave the site before tear down?
Not sure how much room you had on that lot but it would have been cool for the slide to be in front of the wheel so people on the wheel could watch the people on the slide going down,
First of all videos are great only one little thing I thought was a little annoying is how many times you repeated the same information over and over again it almost made me not watch the video. I’m sorry to sound negative but I heard you the first time
When you remove that old lighting package, I know a guy who likes to restore old stuff like that.. Just sayin... 😂
@PeteRondeau I am "patiently" waiting for a new video on your channel!! Nice to see you here as well.
Loved your Response, Pete. Wonder who that is ? 😬👍
When I read the comment I thought of Pete!!! Then I saw it was you hehehe
Lol Pete, I'm here watching this video because your ride setup videos got me fascinated in ride setup! 😂
I have an at360 gyro virtual reality roller coaster for sale with security gates and all

On the carnival i use to work on we just used soda to slow down our slide and we used pledge to speed it up

Tire shine is usually just silicone so yeah, it would be similar.
Gotta built up one side wall on slide now in Australia

Waiting for that “refurb” video!
You were talking about noisy generators. Back in the day when I was on the road we had 2, 4 and a quarter cats in a semi trailer. Talk about loud

Love the old school ferris wheel

24:43 LOL It sucks working alone, good thing you are strong.
Could u use ceramic coating on slide last while to
Back in the eighties used to build a super slide which came out of a box truck bit by bit swing like monkeys side to side

32:24 did he just call me a wet back? Lol

The worry on ur mind of anything going wrong has got to be heavy. Unless ur good at shifting blame or how to keep ur side covered.
These aren’t that common in the Uk anymore - seem like quite hard work to build up I wonder if that’s why?
I always wondered what Jeff Ross did when he isn't roasting people.
Did Pugh Shows used to own that slide ??
Sure kinda looks like it, doesn't it?
Yes it does it still has the old sign
@@dixiemay1996 it still has the weld in the back of the trailer
Looks like the old s&s amusements slide

I would say in this field of work... If your working too hard, then you are doing it wrong.
