My family and I go to almost every Christmas Parade of Boats since the 1960's. Thanks giving us reasonable facsimile of our Xmas visit during this year of covid.
WOW! That 140 even has a life-size real Santa - that is a golden house for me! I amever so grateful you brought us out for a spin, b/c these homes (especially 140 ;> ) are a must!
We are just less than an hour away. I think I want to stay in one of the hotels here over looking the sea. Merry Christmas everyone. Watching from the beautiful Orange County, Southern California.
Wonderful video. My wife and I have walked that same route many times during Christmas, but Christmas lights never looked as good as they do in your video. Very nice. You even managed to pan over to Columbo's (Peter Falk) house; one of our favorites; and it wasn't even decorated. Thanks for sharing.
We walked there many time too.since the late 60s when I was a kid. My uncle owned one of the houses around the 8 min mark. It doesn't look the same now. I miss those times

I usually park at the public parking lot for the Balboa Pier. Cross Balboa Ave. by foot and take ferry to Balboa Island. Or you can try to find parking on the island but is difficult. Small island. They were walking on Front Street.
Hi, I mostly walked on North & South Bay Front path and on Marine Ave., the commercial area of the island. Parking may be challenging in the island, I usually park along Bayside Drive (corner Marine Ave, near Bayside Park). It's free but a bit of walk to reach the bridge crossing the island.

Hi, you can either park at Balboa Pier and take the ferry boat to get into the island or find parking in the island. You can find free parking at east side of Bayside Drive corner Marine Avenue. You can start your walk from Marine Avenue - the entrance and the commercial area of the island.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021.☺️👋🙏 PLEASE JUST THINK..... Every human is relieved that Corona year 2020 has passed. All of us would be HOPING that in new year 2021 we will be FREE from painful experience of Corona. But however, there are other living beings who are continuously suffering quietly and about whom we NEVER THINK and bother ie. ANIMALS.... Kindly LOOK into the EYES OF SUFFERING ANIMALS.... You will clearly see the sadness and pain in their eyes.These silent living beings are suffering so much but STILL we humans never care. They are put in enclosures so SMALL that they can't even MOVE.They are chained and caged for LIFE. They die of desease, extreme cold, hunger and thirst. They are killed BRUTALLY for meat.They are used for MEDICAL experiments. They are ABANDONED on roads to die by pet owners. They are not given food and water. Every time they are treated cruelly by humans for no reason. Humans are angry with humans but they vent out their anger on innocent animals. Animals suffer so much due to humans. But they never complain. So then WHY are humans so cruel to them????!!!! ANIMALS would also be EXPECTING AND HOPING every MOMENT that one day humans will treat them KINDLY. They will someday get freedom from chains and cages. People will feed them and take care of them when they fall ill. But their expectation is broken every moment.... HUMANS NEVER UNDERSTAND their pain. If HUMANS WERE CHAINED and PUT in CAGES similarly for LIFE, BRUTALLY KILLED for meat, treated barbarically by other humans, abandoned, left to die of desease and hunger in extreme weather conditions, used for medical experiments, how would HUMANS FEEL? Why cant humans understand how animals would be feeling when THEIR EXPECTATIONS are broken every time? IF WE STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND their pain and be kind to them then HOW we think ourselves worthy of being treated kindly? If humans cannot be kind to animals, who are so pure and innocent, who never hate and don't have any ego, then how can humans expect same kindness from others? SO JUST THINK..... One thing about all these Ocean Front homes, on these tiny lots, you can hear your neighbors toilet flush, having sex, arguments, stereo too load, whatever, you will hear it, you'll be paying through the nose, just for the privilege of being next to the ocean, I owned one for a couple of years, I know....
It's nice, easy going and festive if you can visit, but please don't even think of moving here. I have a 150 year family history here, and we are being invaded by hordes of people without wholesome values. I don't know why it's me who is supposed to leave Southern California. Sad but true.
