Playing Neverwinter sold me on Acquisitions Incorporated as a part of the game, and given the content of my campaigns this is probably gonna be my next book purchase.

I felt the same way as you when I first read about this book. I respectfully disagree with people who think that it's only for fans of the series. I don't watch Acquisitions Incorporated. Not because I dislike the show or anything, I've just never watched it. However, this book sounds like the type of material I'm looking for. I love the idea of a business for adventurers.
It never ceases to amaze me how people will bind them selves to the flavor text in a book, rather than looking at what the mechanics actually do. Chances are if there was one box in the introduction and one bullet point on the back cover saying exactly what you are saying, then people would not be making these claims that it is only useful to previous fans of the fluff material.
I do my best to bind my self to neither if I can manage it. using the mechanics ideas for what they are useful for and using the flavor text ideas for what they are useful for.

I could see some of this stuff being useful in the Midderlands setting for Swords and Wizardry maybe.
We are actually using this thing in an evil campaign where the characters are building a criminal empire Scarface style

AI is unwatchable, IMO. But power to you if you like it.
If you watched the review I mainly discuss the books use outside of the AI brand which there is a ton.
