I have a whole package of Blood Worms that none of my fish want to eat. Not even the _Hara jerdoni_ seem interested in the blood worms. The _Dario dario_ ate one or two when we first brought him home, but now he only wants to eat brine shrimp. Could it be because they [bloodworms] constantly loose all their meat, just leaving behind a worm casing? Is there some trick to keep the worms intact?
These are all frozen by the way. I've tried Cyclops, Baby Brine Shrimp and Bloodworms. All of our fish prefer regular adult Brine Shrimp. I don't want to feed them only Brine Shrimp for the rest of their lives, so I've been on a quest to acquire some live food whether it be black/grindal/white/banana/micro worms, daphnia or anything else I'm lucky enough to find.
I've got a plethora of microfauna in the QT/baby Blue Dream Shrimp tank, that I'd like to somehow harvest and introduce into the Scarlet Badis tank. He loves to hunt for the tiny copepods, amphipods, detrius worms and so on. Any tips on capturing these micro-creatures since they're already a free source of live food (in our QT tank of all places)?
One caveat during my feeding routine is to take the thawed food out of the fridge (in an air-tight container), then let it warm up a little using the tank water in a measuring spoon, _then_ I proceed to feed the fish. I tried once without "thawing" the food and I swear the fish had a brain freeze. So this the current method I stick too.
Lastly, I notice the 800 gallon received a refresh of hardscape. I still prefer the dopamine rush one gets when you finally spot an elusive fish with the old tankscape, but this setup looks good too. Looks like those giant Clown Loaches scare the rest of the tank inhabitants though. Almost as if the smaller loaches don't even recognize their own kind. Seems like a potential problem as the tank matures. It'll be interesting to watch the progression.
Keep up the good work my friend.
