I ordered this on the restock. So happy to see it unboxed! It's such a gorgeous kit. I thought it was a round drill kit like Dragon Spirit but I'm happy to see it's a square kit! I don't hate round drills but definitely prefer squares.
Hot take and just my preference, but, my main issue with DAC is how reserved they are with special drills. You could really use them to make up for the lack of texture diamond painting has. You can use them to make each painting magical. They just tend to use special drills to lightly enhance but it's very muted. Not that I want tons of ABs on each piece. There's just a line that DAC never gets close to crossing, that's for sure.
I recently ordered some special drills from DP with Sparklers to enhance an old masters kit I got for Summer with the Masters and the ABs were cheaper than the fairy dust drills. There's no reason DAC couldn't do a little more. Dreamer Designs frequently sends 6-9 ABs with each kit. If you're lucky a DAC kit will have 1-3 ABs and a couple fairy dust. It just winds up being better than nothing, when, for the cost of their kits, they could do a little more.
Check out Diamonds and Washi's recent unboxing from Francesca's Studio Works and she sent TONS of ABs in that kit. I'm sure it's going to be gorgeous and have just the right amount of extra sparkle and shine where DAC could often use just a little more most of the time.
I don't disagree on that front. I feel like they are nowhere CLOSE to crossing the line into tacky for the ABs and Fairy Dust. What they honestly could do is have like TEN ABs and Fairy Dust charted and send them with a note that say replace X for X if desired. Drills are CHEEEEEEEAP.
@@HouseOfMiscellania I love that idea and I completely agree! I made my comment before you showed where the drills are and I think what they have will be really pretty but then I look at all the other things they could enhance, like the fox mask and other elements in the image and it'd just be nice if they did a little more.
I think someone put on the extra sassy pants today 😂 I would so love to get this one, even more so now that I have seen your unboxing. Unfortunately just not in the budget at the moment so will be going on the wish list for another time 😊

Random bit of Japanese culture, Japanese people started answering the phone by saying moshi moshi to prove they are not a kitsune or ghost because according to Japanese lore kitsune and ghost are incapable of saying it. I’m trying to decide if I want to work on this one next or Chroma 🤔
