    2 things you can notice upon the second viewing.... 1. You can hear the gun shot when Albert accidentally touches the record player. 2. You can see Maria's hands trembling when she pours the wine when she comes in the new dress. This is right after she has committed the murder.

    I agreed with most things you all said. But the ending left me satisfied. The thing with sriram raghavan movies is that we tend to find the chekhov's gun, and i was able to spot 3 of them easily. Origami being crucial to story was apparent. The bird in the cage is like a loud scream of 'ye lo chekov's gun'. And then the story Albert recited to Annie. as we knew that the kid had stopped speaking at one point and it wasnt a born disability, she can start speaking again when someone will say choomantar in the end.
    Easter egg you missed - The night is darkest before the dawn. Appears on Albert's weighing machine ticket and Maria says it to Albert, after they return at Maria's place. It being a foreshadowing to destroying the replica room which happens just before dawn. which if you think about, is a pretty cold move on their part.
    Quote in the start - 'So this is Christmas...And what have you done?' Lyrics from a Celine Dion-John Lennon Song. The song is Happy Xmas. It mentions how the singer is wishing for a great year ahead, and Albert also does the same by sacrificing himself for Maria and Annie.
    Also i would like to say - If there never was an Andhadhun, we would have appreciated Merry Christmas more.

    Gotta disagree with Snayhil with his thoughts on ending. If Albert (Vijay Sethupathi) wouldn't have falsely confessed, then the officials would have questioned the kid as she could speak now. And she would have said everything and then Maria (Katrina) would have gotten arrested.

      And they show it with the brilliant camera work too . Camera zooms in and stays on Maria when she runs to her daughter who has spoken after many years . Then after a few seconds she realizes what it means for their story .

      @zinchh
      Exactly. Hence Maria cries and realizes that Albert has genuinely fallen for her.

    It’s interesting to me that after years of getting panned by critics, it seems like Katrina Kaif mostly gets critical praise now. I haven’t seen _Merry Christmas_ (though I’m cool with spoilers), and I haven’t seen most of her more recent performances, but I wonder if it’s simply that she was always a talented actress, but simply needed to become more fluent in Hindi to show it, and now she has. Or, given her reputation as a hard worker (even though it seems like a backhanded compliment), if she’s simply worked and willed herself into becoming a better actor. I don’t really have an opinion, since I haven’t seen many of her films, but I’m curious what others think, because it’s a pretty weird career graph for which I can’t really think of a precedent (Sophia Loren didn’t speak English when she first went to Hollywood back in the day, but I think her acting ability was pretty much always well-regarded).

    • @aamiransari5995
      @aamiransari5995 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I always had a take on this. It's nice you bought it up now. I can my give two cents on this.
      The statement that Katrina is not a good enough actress is something everybody believed in (but i didn't). She wasn't helped with the fact that whenever in KWK Karan used to ask others to rank actresses in acting capabilities, most of them used to place Katrina at the bottom, which I always believed to be wrong.
      Yes, she did had a limited range in the beginning of her career and her inability to speak hindi because of which they had to dub her voice, which just made more harm to her image. As both acting and voice was never good enough for me to call it a good combination.
      But if you think about even her earlier movies in which she has used her voice they always have been good. Be it a Serious part of Rajneeti or New York or the opposite kind of role in movies like Ajab Prem ki Gajab Kahani or Namastey London. Yes she was rough around the edges (which I guess any untrained actor would be) in early part of her career. But one thing is for sure is that her comic timings has been good from earlier part of her career.
      In every movie in which she had an important role since (the terribly underrated) Fitoor I guess she has been one of the strongest aspects of the movie she has starred in.
      So in conclusion I would say she was always a good actor, but people have just now started giving her some credit.

  • @annudhyani6588

    The daughter starts speaking at that very time because of the story which was told to her by Albert. He had told her story that one day magic will happen and you will speak. And for fun inspector had done that magic to her when she had forgotten that caged bird ornament.
    Very new fan of yours and have already watched every episode. Some quite a few times. Great job. I look forward to new pop wrap episodes ❤❤

    Abbas u must watch Raid . It's one of Devgan's better films ... Climax song is melodramatic but over all a fine film.
    Also Aamir is starting Sitare Zameen par shoot from Feb 2 in Delhi... Do an episode on his choice of remaking a Korean film Champions (SZM)

    Fighter's trailer was very disappointing. The zingoism level was on ultra-pro-max. I wasn't expecting that at all. 😮

    Bhai tum logo ko plot convenience ja mtlab pta hai qa? Every incident in a film that moves the plot forward doesn't mean its a plot convenience. Aise to koi movie hi qu dekhe theater me agr without coincidence mundane life hi dekhni hai.

    I loved merry Christmas. Vijay was awesome. His hand can act better than can one one else in the movie. The last ring scene really mad me angry. I wonder how much did the producers interfered. The close ups were not shown well. Not consistently basically. I personally do not like open ended movies

    Why do you three always sit in then same order in all episodes?

    • @aamiransari5995
      @aamiransari5995 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is very technical reason to it. Since they all so dismillar
      physically. They will need different lighting and camera placement for each onr of them. If they would change positions they have to the calculations and setting of lights and cameras.
      Hence the three of them sits at the same place.

    The hero in Raavan is Vikram not Madhavan. Not all South Indian actors are the same and interchangeable. This is not the first time you guys have said something completely ridiculous while referencing South movies, and sorry but you are doing a pop culture and movie podcast, i request you to please research or fact check what you say. I love you guys and watch all your content but it's really annoying and disappointing and sounds disingenuous cuz what you're doing/saying is just this generation's "Everything South is Madrasi".

    I hope that after Fighter, Bollywood stops with these ultra-nationalistic nonsense products, and focuses more on storyline. Such movies are just making a fool out of the audience. They are not even true to the source material. Uri will be a fine example of how nationalistic movies can be made without being 'loud'.
