Those storage lockers look good. You sure have a lot of room on this boat. It looks nice 👍 take it easy 👍👍

Thanks! The boat is only 27 feet and I want to live aboard for at least three months at a time. Its amazing how much food, water, fuel and other stuff I think I need for so long. The end goal is exploring extremely remote places where there are no stores, fuel docks or pollution so I need to store everything on the boat.

Thanks. I was a little worried that I might decide some of the changes weren't working out well, but I like almost every change I've made to the boat. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have filled the dinghy with foam because it added 30 pounds or so to something that was really light, and I now wonder if it will eventually soak up water and get even heavier. Fortunately the major modifications to the Carver have turned out to be pretty nice so far.

Glad to see another video. When you’ve got time I’d like to know more about of your electronics. Also I’m sure many would enjoy knowing what your backgrounds been with boating. You’ve got to be the coolest and the most skilled woman around. I’m very impressed.
The compass issue I may be able to help with. As a pilot I’ve learned how sensitive your compass is to wiring and electronics. Getting it away from those should stop it from moving around like that.
How depressing seeing how they not only control the land but also the water and worse is how a fellow traveler treated you at the docks.

Thanks for the tip about having the compass away from the instrument panel and other electronics. What would you like to know about the electronics? The solar charge controllers and batteries? The autopilot and chartplotter? I'm planning to do a little demonstration of the Sirius satellite weather overlay on the chartplotter, but I could do a video on other stuff if you have an interest.

Nine Hundred Dollar Luxury Yacht the plotter with satellite radio etc. would be my choice.
      thanks

Not satisfied with tooling around in Florida on a ten million dollar yacht, they have to call the fuzz on some tired traveler just needing a break for the night? What jerks!
They ought to try pushing a broom for minimum wage in cold, dreary Chicago for almost sixty years like me!
I’d have been tickled pink to be in Florida and see you and your beautiful boat!
You’re exceptionally skilled at that fiberglass work. I’d love to hear more about your background. I am guessing scientific/teacher?
    Best of everything to you!

I taught at Rutgers, worked for the Russian Academy of Science, made night video for National Geographic, and built motion-control equipment for cinematography and stop-motion animation. Some of my stuff is on my other channel "Sciencelookers". I changed careers every decade or so, because by then I learned too much about how things are done to be as creative as I was when I first started. This time I decided to do a project for myself. When I thought about what should be at the top of my bucket-list, I wanted to spend a lot of time in the Bahamas again. Its really beautiful there but living on the boat is the only way I can afford to stay for a really long time.

Nine Hundred Dollar Luxury Yacht I figured science/teaching. I get the affordability part, unless I can get from Chicago to the Keys in a liveaboard row boat, I have zero chance of living the dream!

What kind of dinghy do you have on your boat

    • @ninehundreddollarluxuryyac5958
      @ninehundreddollarluxuryyac5958  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The dinghy is an Oliver Boat. They sell them in Miami, so I drove down there and picked it up myself so I saved a lot on shipping it. It looks like an inflatable, but its really high density polyethylene plastic with some foam inside. I put a deck hatch in the front to store an anchor, rope, lights, dive flag and other dinghy-related stuff inside. I don't see a website for them, but their phone is (786) 487-5931. Their address is 14025 SW 143rd Ct, Miami Florida 33186. If you go there, use your GPS to find it.

We had some issues with the motor in Fort Lauderdale... Will be back in a few weeks to finish our trip up ICW. To Maryland. Wish I could have picked up a Oliver boat.
