It’s all about how fast you drive . I made my own and I added a cultivar shanks to it for soil compaction. I also had to put three point anti sway bar’s on if you watch your video you will see the hiller swaying they will help. I use mine on potatoes and I learned the hard way .you do make a good video thank.

I was like you, I've been looking at getting one for over 2 years now and finally I ordered one today from Stevens. Glad to see it working good, It'll save me a lot of time on rows for pumpkins and melons.

I just paid 650 for the 16” sweeps took about 5 days two get. Really well built and heavy duty! All the 3 point bar came all scratched up and the disk and plows were in boxes that arrived all beat up and parts sticking out. But everything seems fine other than cosmetics and I’m about to make that even worse in the garden! The people at Stephens were awesome to deal with and did everything they said. I would and will buy other attachments from them!

The way these shipping people handle things now-a-days may have been the problem with the cosmetic issues.

I built my own bedder last week and used it today. I am noticing the spacing of your disc is greater than mine and will try that tomorrow. I think the shafts are about 28" apart and make a pointy row.

I played with it a lot to get what I wanted.

I like mine but it's one of them things that I only use once a year.

I used mine for the first time 3 days ago I did in 15 minutes what took me and the wife 3 days to do last year. I have to hill my garden because I live on the gulf coast and any hurricane or heavy spring rains can put my land under water. My best result was with speed and good deep till.

Thanks for giving your measurements! I was able to pick up a tool bar and clamps from Armstrong AG with two discs for $500 (picked up myself) Ill see how it does tonight little worried my disc are tubular not square. I noticed your clamps had a screw to hold them in place.

Do you feel this would be good for a subcompact or is it too "big"?

    • @papawsplace

As long as your soil has been tilled it will work fine.
