well done. keep up the good work. I like the fact that this doesn't limit you to the s, d, f, j, k, & l keys win in braille terminal mode.

How does this device differ from the qwerty version of the BrailleNote Apex? It appears to have a similar appearance and functions.

Courtneylovesreading411 Since it’s from APH, it’s easier for school districts and co-ops to purchase it. But yes you are correct, they do seem similar.

Hi! This is a Bluetooth keyboard with a 40-cell braille display and that connects to your favorite devices. It also has stand-alone features that allow you to use it on the go. Other devices like the BrailleNote Apex were primarily designed to operate as notetakers first. Hope this answers your question!

The difference between the mantis and something like the brailleNote apex is that even if the brailleNote has a qwerty keyboard, you are limited to using the s, d, and f keys for dots 1, 2, and 3 and the j, k, and l keys for dots 4, 5, and 6 in braille terminal mode, whereas on the mantis, you can use standard key commands and touch typing.

Ooo! When will it be out? Or, Is it already out? Greg Stilson does a great job with commercials! Even though he worked at HummanWare, and Aira before he worked at APH. Ha's had a great experience with Technology!!! Great Job Greg!!!

What is the Bluetooth Version? For Only $600 more than the Brailliant BI20X this display is a great deal. Especially for deaf blind and those who do not care about speech.

The Mantis Q40 has full wireless connectivity with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi out of the box to meet all your braille needs.

@@AphOrg and you guys know that that does not answer the question so I’m gonna be even more specific. What version of Wi-Fi and what version of Bluetooth does the mantis have? Does the Wi-Fi support both 2.4 and 5.8 GHz networks? And there are good reasons for the question. The Brailliant 20 is Bluetooth five and has a Much more stable connection to iPhones but the 40 cell version is only Bluetooth 4.2. Which is OK, but it’s about five years out of date and does not have the range or stability or low power consumption of Bluetooth 5. I will apologize now, but I guess this hit a nerve. As an assistive technology specialist I get tired of all these blindness products getting the oldest and slowest chips available with the least amount of features which means that compared to off-the-shelf products we are constantly being siloed.

@@reginaldgeorge5363 Thank you for clarifying your question. The Mantis Q40 uses Bluetooth 4.2 and the Wi-Fi is 2.4 gHZ. We understand your position and want to include the latest Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules in our future releases.

The video details are not altogether accurate with its information.
Because ultimately HUMANWARE had the apex QT 32 Braille display

while there were braille displays with QWERTY keyboards before the mantis, you were limited to typing with the S, D, F, J, K, and L keys while in terminal mode.
