    The moment you overcome a difficult situation is the best victory.

    You outed two Purrley Towers in one turn, survived the onslaught of his followup and then OTK’ed against a board-wipe and a negate with just two cards and a dream. I was literally holding my head in shock that you won that duel.

    Amazing plays like always! That comeback from the Purrely duel was great.
    At the very start, why didn't you summon Raye but only set some cards?
    2:19 What happened with Linkage here? You activated it and chained Anchor but then you couldn't summon a Link Monster.
    9:47 Why don't you go into Shizuku here?
    11:00 Wait, why did Kagari resolve under Skill Drain?
    Sorry for the questions, I just try to learn as much as possible and get a better player. Hope I don't annoy you.

      0:00 - Mikanko is a low damage output deck outside from Double-Edged Sword and the Armored XYZ stuff. They often run Kaijus and have targeting protection on the majority of their cards. If I cannot win or get to an advantageous position, there is no point in throwing my cards away while I still have a few turns to get a better hand. This is extremely matchup specific and can be applied to Numeron and Luna Kaiju as well.
      2:19 - Linkage must send the monster to the GY to summon from the Extra Deck. Monsters summoned with Mayowashidori are banished when they leave the field, so Linkage cannot summon. It's just a convenient way to clear his monster and still have an empty board here.
      9:47 - You are locked into one attribute under Gozen Match. Only wind monsters can be attempted to be summoned in that situation.
      11:00 - Skill Drain only negates the effects of monsters that are face-up on the field. If they are removed by the time their effect resolves, it cannot stop their effects.

      @@auctaway Thank you 🙏🏻 I keep that in mind when playing Mikanko. I'm not that familiar with them yet.
      To use Linkage that way was a smart move then.
      And I actually didn't know Gozen Match works that way. I thought when you remove your monster from field (Hayate), you're free to put another monster but seems like the attribute you chose is permanent then.
      And I'll remember that Skill Drain move.
      Thanks again^^

      @@makenaiyomi1083 Something very important to remember for Gozen Match that is specific to Sky Striker is that if you did not summon a certain Link this turn and Gozen Match is up. For example, suppose you have a Kagari from last turn on your field. If you did not summon Kagari this turn you are allowed to activate Linkage and send Kagari, but because there is no monster on your field you are now free to summon any of the other links with Linkage.

      @@auctaway I'm a bit confused. So linking Kagari for something else doesn't work but with Linkage it's ok?

    • @auctaway
      @auctaway  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@makenaiyomi1083 It's only okay because there was a valid target at the time of Linkage's activation (another Kagari), but once Linkage removes your only monster with an attribute, you are no longer locked by Gozen.

    amazing replays as always :D , are u excited for the new Sky striker support and alt art coming to master duel?

      I don't think the new support will change much, but Camellia is a nice addition at least. The alternate arts are exciting even if I don't like gacha rolling for them

    Well done! I feel like the Mikanko player did the best he could but the Purrely player misplayed I feel, don't they prefer monster on the field to attack into multiple times for game? I'm not positive but I feel that Purrely player misplayed by being overconfident in their initial setup. I mean Armored XYZ plus double Noir is pretty imposing of a board but he underestimated Strikers.
    Edit:
    Just saw the Labyrinth stun game, taking out the skill drain was a nice play! Learning new plays, keep sharing

      I mostly agree with the Mikanko player's plays, but he made a crucial mistake by revive Raye instead of a Link with Fire Dance. It could be unfamiliarity with the matchup, so I cannot blame him as the deck certainly isn't common in the higher ranks. The point where he summoned Hu-Li to block the HAMP damage is something I don't agree with and he should have done it at the end of battle phase or at least when he say Engage was added to hand with Multirole already active. This would have put me in an awkward position to remove Hu-Li or risk losing to an Ohime topdeck. This requires extreme matchup knowledge to know how to play around Shark Cannon and it almost only comes up in Striker versus Orcust, so once again I cannot blame him. He played near perfectly throughout the game.
      In my opinion the Purrely play should have spun Raye on summon, spun the Link she tags into, then spin her on the revive. This forces them to have an extender to keep playing (which you can spin anyway). The other option is to just not use Noir at all because Striker has to go into Accesscode or something similar to remove the second Noir (which can just be spun by Noir). The most extreme error in judgment was not putting his second Happy Memory under Happy so his Zeus would have had an extra material. If he was going to commit to Zeus wiping his own board, he might as well have gone all in since his extra deck was depleted and he had no other win conditions. I'm not sure if I would consider this unfamiliarity or greed, but he made some not-so-good decisions.

      @auctaway Yeah I couldn't have played Mikanko any better than he did but I need to study the deck more. When the Purrely player let you link and search I knew you had a chance. I'm not high on the ladder because I don't play much ranked just enough for dailies but I like to learn. Right now I'm having a hard time against these random Tearlaments players that hit the mill lottery. I keep playing my Swordsoul deck because it's easy for dailies but I have 20+ other decks I could be practicing with lol. Anyway nice games and I'll start working on my other decks

    • @auctaway
      @auctaway  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sirnightw I would say Swordsoul is a deck that can look simple, but has a lot of advanced plays, especially with the Tenyi cards that allow to interesting outplay options. Unfortunately, that just happens with Tearlaments sometimes and the outcome of the game can very much be out of your control because they milled too well, like a shuffler or Snow.

    • @sirnightw
      @sirnightw 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @auctaway I don't feel too bad sticking to my Swordsoul deck then! I try to look for lines that can play thru handtraps and usually pick going 2nd to see if opponent will put up a weaker board assuming I'm Mikanko or a Kaiju based deck.
      Will continue learning!
