Hi, 2 months later if you still are confused by this, I can explain lol. Essentially, DM and rod are both DARK monsters, and even though neither are tuners, you can treat one as such because Chaos Angel will allow it. The text on Chaos Angel is "For this card's Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 LIGHT or DARK monster you control as a Tuner." So DM is 7, Rod is 3, then treat one of them as a tuner, you get your level 10 Chaos Angel!
Why the enemies always makes the long stupid move wasting their 3000 ATK monsters just summon 1 monster? Then after you make it disappears neither by battle or effect of cards they immediately run away

Spell lock is only active when spellcaster in on the field. Verte is plant and dark magician is spellcaster, but on face down position.
