Seems like a more technical and practical version of kyokushin. 👍

The Tai Sabaki principle and being able to grab the do-gi to throw distinguishes Ashihara kara te from kyokushin toe to toe brawling kara te.

Why not anything about Shihan Jens Bjerrekaer? The first Shihan of Ashihara outside of Japan. The one to spread it across Europe. The one to host the Sabaki Challenge Spirit which was the World Championship with First Kancho Ashihara’s blessing for many years?

Tai sabaki is the core of the shotokan/shotokai training.... It's so sad when people who know nothing about Karate history talk shit about it...

Tai Sabaki is used quite differently in both styles, both with strengths and weaknesses

That could be - but Kyokushin (and it's variations) would simply destroy Shotokan/Shotokai practiontioners - u know that!!

Using Shotokan and Karate "history" in one sentence is also "shit talk". Shotokan and Kyokushin (Ashihara) are modern Sport-Styles of Karate. What does not have its origins in Okinawa has nothing to do with karate "history".

Still they don’t have their own style in Karate. Its still kyokushin karate, so they should not change the name of their karate. Student should honor his Sensei Oyama, by honoring the name of Kyokushin.

Oyama wants to be the boss, ashihara wants to be the boss, everybody wants to be the head. Most importantly the style is practical and useful. Go look at ashihara fighting videos, very high KO rates because more technical. OSU!
