  • Lets look at a Homelite 3816 chainsaw that won't start. Customer states it has fresh fuel in it but they don't tell you it sat with old fuel in it. Heres a quick test to show you where to look for your problem. #smallenginerepair

    Wow, that micro screen looked full of those steaming fresh rat ‘cookies’ behind your rat in the logo.

    Thanks for the video i enjoyed that and it will be helpful. I just aquired 2 homelite saws (z3300 and a 27av) and both were "junkers" that i hope to be able to make useable again.

    I need to start stocking the various kits but there are so many !

      There sure are. We stock about 20 different part numbers for both zama and walbro. Maybe 5 for tillotson. Guess what? I still find myself ordering kits with different numbers.

    Excellent format from a viewer's perspective. Really liking these vids. Nothing like sipping a cold one while reviewing your own work, eh?
    On another note...still can't believe that 540 ingested that bridge piece. Wow! Just out of curiosity, would Husky approve a NIB saw, or would you just throw a long block in it for the unfortunate owner?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Husky sent us a new saw to prep for him. I must say that Husqvarna has been easy to work with for warranty work. Part of that might be that if I know it isn't a legit claim I won't try to make it.

    That thing had a giant fuel cap. Looks like your screwdriver maybe just needed a set screw tightened up…

      @@rooster3019 The rubber line I used is Echo branded and has proven a good fuel line. I have a box of it by my bench and was too lazy to walk over to the parts room so thats what this saw got. Besides that, yellow is for spring time repairs and dark colors are for fall.

    I own that very same saw. Took the carburetor out to clean it twice. The cover is a pain to get off and on!
    My biggest problem with this saw is my fuel boils when I use the saw. I have no idea why.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  ปีที่แล้ว

      So you're experiencing vapor lock to the point of the saw quitting? Is the saw in stock condition and the air intake at starter clear?
