    Good informative vid, especially at 6:10 mins, "the spring loaded arm needs to be even with the top of the carb body or just a hair below it". That part got my saw up and running correctly. If it's too low then it will not start or run...no fuel. If it's too high then it will run incredibly high and stall...too much fuel. Thanks.

    When I removed the muffler, I thought it might have a catalytic convertor because of the steel wires stuffed in the buffer. After operating for a while, the muffler became very hot.

    Just finished a 4218c top end, had to reset the needle arm to below the body level. Prior to adjust it would flood the crankcase when NOT running. First time I've had to do this. Carb had evidence of being worked on when the culprit was a loss of compression. Had to replace primer bulb as it was not internally sealing correct. It was allowing fuel to move backwards a little.

    I loved watching your video the only thing I was wondering I have the same saw when the prime of bulb goes in which lines this 2 lines which ones go to which port on the primer

      When you gently pump the primer, fuel should get sucked into the line that has the filter on the end of it and return to the tank via the line with no filter.

    I'm sorry but your replies still weren't sufficient enough to clear my confusion in trying to trace each connection of the fuel lines starting from the line with the filter intake in the tank. Perhaps answers to the following questions will clear up my confusion:
    1. Is the filter line from the tank connected directly to the carburetor or primer bulb?
    2. Is the return line from the bulb connected directly to the carburetor or the tank?
    3. A point-to-point description of where each piece of line is properly connected to will surely clear things up.

      Pickup line to primer bulb
      Transfer line primer bulb to carb.
      Return line carburetor to tank

      Fuel to carb from filtered line to carb on left side facing intake. The outlet line on the right side of carb goes to primer bulb's short connection. This SHORT connection draws suction and should be oriented on top when bulb is installed as it will allow lines to install without twist or crossover. The long bulb connection then goes to the tank to return flow.
      The two tank holes are the same size but for which hole is used to accommodate which line goes where. The hole outside, nearest tank fill cap goes to left, lower, inlet of carb. Remaining hole from bulb long connection

      @@magicone9327 The purge bulb is good diagnostic tool. it show if carb is getting fuel & if hi speed ck valve is working ok to prevent lo speed starve out.

      @@jamesfarley5183 Isn't the explanation from @magicone9327 the opposite of what the video is saying? The video says the short line on the left side of the carb is the fuel return line. As I understand the flow, the primer bulb pulls fuel through the carburetor. It does not push it into the carburetor as the video suggests...correct?
