The Panamanian Consulate couldn’t even explain the steps this clearly!!! God Bless you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Good post...this is exactly what people need to know...I started the process a couple of years ago, but got stalled because of Covid causing delays at the embassies and consulates, arranging fingerprinting, etc., while my passport was due to expire within a few months...I'm in Mexico now about to return to Panama, but I'm spending a week in Miami Beach to get new ID documents and my FBI background check...I'll show up in Panama in just over a week with everything I need in hand...
Glad to hear you're back on track with the process!
@@Marysseasonedexpatlife Pssst!...I did my fingerprints/apostilled FBI filing here in Miami Beach this morning, 2-1/2 hours after I called to ask how to make an appointment...I only have a couple more painless stops left to make then nos vemos... 🙂
Oh my…so happy I’ve found your channel🍷

Shalom Ms. Mary first and foremost I would like to thank you for bringing forth information. I will be reaching out to your attorney. Mine is a little bit more complicated because I am a resident of South Africa but I’m from America. I retired as the United States soldier and I have a retirement visa In South Africa that ends December of next year. But I am looking to leave South Africa way before that time so I’m gonna contact the attorney to see what her recommendation is. Also, I would like to join your chat if that’s possible I’m looking to reach out to women that is over 50 like I am to be able to communicate with entry ideals
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I hope to have you in my group soon!
@ well how do I join?
Thank you Mary!
You are so welcome!

Great video
Thanks!
Do you surrender your passport when you receive the Pensionada Visa?
Only temporarily to process it, you are only getting residency not denouncing citizenship
Thank you for sharing this information
Glad it was helpful!
Good advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice job-valuable info. Thanks Mary
Glad it was helpful! Thanks
I’d love to visit! Mary are you sponsoring any group retreats or trips for us American Women who want to experience Panama first but not be completely solo?
I need to poll my community to see if anyone wants to come to Panama, my hosted trips are usually in other countries, just posted one for dubai & Maldives
what's the difference between having permanent residency, and having citizenship?
@@raycoleman5617 I would google for a more definitive answer, I am not am immigration attorney but my understanding is that to become a Panamanian citizen you have to denounce your US citizenship, be a resident for 5 years, take tests etc, but permanent residency allows you to maintain your US citizenship but also reside in the country legally and the pensionada visa gives you benefits to live there. Most foreigners don’t get citizenship unless they have family ties with birth rights. Each county has different rules for citizenship so it depends
Thank you for the information. I was reading the requirements online but its good to hear from an experienced person.
Online states that you must get a physical exam with a Panamanian doctor. Is that not a requirement anymore?
Consult with your attorney
What if you do not live in the US? I am retired. Do I have to go there?
Can you get your fingerprints done in the country you are in?
I’m a 100% p&t veteran, and receive SSDI would a pensonado visa be an optional in my case? I also have 4 children 12 and under that would immigrate with me also could you offer any insight on public school’s, or affordable areas for a woman with small children? Thank you…
check out my video on the cost of living in panama so you can get an idea of what it costs depending on your budget, I would suggest you join a Panama group for families on facebook to get detailed information on public school for children. You would need to consult with an attorney to see what visa you qualify for, there are lots of disabled vets here in Panama.
Did you have to get your Social Security Benefits letter apostilled?
I did not have a social security benefits letter but you will need to get whatever your attorney tells you to get apostilled
Awesome content Mary. I’m retired with a lifetime civil service pension. Can I bring my daughter? She graduates from high school in 2026.
You absolutely can, our live tonight one the panel guests has a teenage daughter you should watch and ask your questions
I have a 90 yr mother. Can she be my dependant?
I am sure she can, but you will need to consult with an attorney
Great information!
